its for ppl who listen to trance in the dark ![]()
dogzilla, ronald van gelderen, richard durand etc. = dark trance?
just taking a stab lol
i'd agree with ronald van gelderen, also you should check out the label Discover Dark.
I have question: would some of Sander Van Doorns productions also be considered dark? (ex. punked, dance 4 life remix, etc)

Oh man. Funny to see when people try to think what would be dark trance

I think dark trance is the opposite of what people call "uplifting" nowadays.
Tracks like Deepsky - Stargazer (X-Cabs Remix) and John `00` Flemings remix of Mahadeva are good examples of dark-trance.

yea i was just taking a stab, i dont think ive really heard anything to be considered "dark trance"
I don't know, its an odd label for anything in the trance genre. Theres very little I can think of lately listening to which had any real sinister or 'dark' overtones to it, about the closest is some of the psy artists who skirt around techno side of things but thats more out on the 'hard edge' of dance music.
Jungle, D&B, old hardcore/terrorcore techno definatly has elements of something wicked and nasty in it from time to time but it's just never fitted into trance in the same way as other electronic music seems to have occassionally flirted with.
Alliance.
I wouldnt describe any of the stuff mentioned in here as 'dark'.
THIS is dark.

hmmm stuff like Oliver Prime, but Ive kinda dubbed that deep trance..
Dreamwaver - Zombies
Oh yes.
That sig image will be found in the sigs of producers on TA who make "dark" trance. The image should link you to a thread with several TA producers' names and samples of what they've made. Some of the samples may be down, though. These things were put together a while ago.
Looking at the link, it looks like most of the people there actually produce either psy or a particularly dark form of tech trance.
So dark trance is like psytrance minus the psy?

Im assuming darktrance is a type of anti-club/dance kind of trance. Maybe its a more evil kind of a trance, thats more atmospheric and gloomy rather than uplifting...
oh please let me not be wrong.
I think dark trance is more of a description than a genre. It's just trance that has a dark atmosphere and melodic progression. I think trance that fits the description comes more often from psy and tech trance producers.
im no cyberhore
