hmm i don't know
they just butcher the songs
and then get all the teeny boppers coming to the clubs where they know this music is getting played.
all these artists get huge recognition and money without having their songs played on a station like z103.
its just not worth it when all the songs just get butchhhhered so bad
just saying this from past things i saw and what a lot of people always say to me

As oppose to what? we need new people in this scene, we can't judge who is allowed to stay and who isn't.

I don't understand this. Are you saying EDM is only catered to a particular type of crowd?

Songs aren't being butchered. They are being played - giving more exposure to EDM.

Dude, form your own opinion. Why are you passing on hearsay?

Dude, you don't understand. I am always sooo happy whenever I hear an EDM track being played on the radio. I honestly don't really care what it is (if I cared, I would just play a set or mixed CD that I made myself). It shows that it is becoming more openly accepted as a mainstream genre of music here in Canada.

Tell me something: would you rather hear a not so good mix of Cicada-The Things You Say, or yet another stupid top 40 song?

Be happy with what we have, and the fact that our music is starting to get more exposure.

first off, dont take what i said in such offence, when someone states their opinion, respect it.
secondly i dont know if youve never noticed but how many times through the years do you see sick clubs getting all these teeny boppers who listen to rap and one min and then all of a sudden are crazy house heads ONLY because put ur hands up for detroit for ex was played on the radio. THAT is what im saying, we dont NEED new people in the scene, im extremely satisfied with the people at guvy for ex. im talking about people who all of a sudden love it cuz z103 plays it.
andddd clearly DUDE i have my own opinion, i also stated that i know maaany other people who have noticed a few of the same things i have as well.

i respect what you have to say im just stating my opinion
and that opinion is from someone who absolutely loves the MUSIC, cuz its all about the music

thats fine i respect that, but why dont you read what i wrote, this is one way i look at it. everyone sees things differently.
i dont get it, u dont agree with me thats coooool
im not bashing everything your saying.

Posted by Skipper on Jan-23-2007 03:17:

The problem is that radio stations latch on to a few hits and play them incessantly until they lose their appeal.

No.

I think it is great. Most people when exposed to good electronic music love it (in my experience at least).

Hahaha, I didn't say you were bashing what I said. I was just trying to get you to see things from a different perspective.

I think that EDM artists are VERY underexposed, as compared to someone like Britney Spears (who IMO, doesn't really deserve any recognition).
So when they actually get their tracks played on the radio, it's a pretty big deal.

Nah, I don't think it is that horrible. Although I do not really listen to regular radio that much.
