** Which keeps more sound out?> Sony MDR-V700DJ or Technics RP-DJ1210???
Does anyone know or tried the Sony MDR-V700DJ and Technics RP-DJ1210's?? Which blocks out more background noise?
Also, would the MDR-V500DJ's block out the same amount of background noise than the V700's since their design is quite similar? And is this the same deal for the RP-DJ1200's and the RP-DJ1210's?
Where do the Sony MDR-V6's (recommended by Gluegun) rank with these headphones for blocking sound out?
I'm just wondering about these 2 particular headphones so no need to suggest others...
thanks in advance!!

thanks heaps DJTJ!
really appreciated..
so the V6's block out more sound than the Technics? That seems odd as the 700's are higher on the line and have less noise cancelling than the V6's...
Does anyone know how many db the Technics'/Sonys cut out? How are the Sony MDR-7506/7505's and MDR-V600's for cutting background noise?
Another consideration is the Sennheiser EH-2200 which can be found for only US$60 and cuts out up to 25db! I think that would be more than the Technics... Anyone know about the sound quality of the EH2200 though?
I've tried both. I own the v700s.
I've got to say that I chose the v700s mainly because they block out sound much better than the Techs. Simply put, the ear cup is a better fit for the v700s. As much as Gluegun would have you to know that the v6s are the best thing that ever came out of the earphones market, I wouldn't recommend it (sorry Gluegun) for DJ-ing; sure it's value for money and has a great sound and all, but under club conditions, open headphones just won't work. That's just my opinion, though, and I'm sure I'm going to get alot of stick from Gluegun now.

There's definately a sound difference between the first RPDJ1200's and the 1210's (right now there are 3 models avaible, the original 1200 black ones, the 1210 silver ones, and the new 1200 black ones with same specs as the 1210).
The first 1200's (which I have) have a higher response in the low frequencies. They really can kick the crap out of your ears.
Then they made the 1210's that besides the color and the coiled cord, had a flatter frequency response. So they reduced the low freq response a bit, so in total it's more linear.
Now you have black 1200's with that more linear response also.
there is a sticky headphone thread to discuss this sort of stuff
get those sennheiser hd280 pro's... 30 dB of isolation... that's twice as much as the sony's or tech's...
Yea, the Sennheiser HD280 Pro's are basically the PERFECT DJ headphone...
Side swivel, inexpensive, easy to drive, plenty of power handling, incredible build quality, fold up, block out TWICE AS MUCH OUTSIDE SOUND AS ANY OF THESE, plenty of bass...
i have the v6 and my friend has the v700.. personally i like mine better because the v700 isn't that comfortable (in my opinion) and they are also very big and bulky for what they are.. they look like they are some industrial strength headphone or something.. and they are heavy.. that is why i like my v6, it is pretty fit to your head (not too bulky) and they are pretty fucking light.. they also block out a shit load of sound.. ya know how w/ some headphones you can keep both cups on ur ears and still hear wats going on outside if its loud enough so u can beat match.. well w/ the v6's, i have to definetly take one cup off to hear the music.. and thats w/ monitors pointing at me too, not just listening to the speakers.. but my hearing isn't the greatest so this might not be the same for others.. but i would definetly not spend the money on v700's when u can get v6 for like half the cost.
