I heard it was a rather large venue. Is the dance floor really dominated by a bunch of tables? Is there a balcony or anything?

There WAS a gigantic dancefloor right in front of the stage, but some asshole decided it would be a good idea to close off the entire thing and make it a VIP section with tables and couches.
So now you've got this rediculous uberclub with NO dancefloor. It's stunningly retarded.

That was my major disappointment as well..

I missed them last year and don't plan on doing the same this year..

The walking distance is nice.. but the lack of dance floor sucks..

S&D played there 2 years ago...great times. that was before the aforementioned placement of VIP tables on the dancefloor. hopefully they will have it set up more appropriately for S&D though they kept all the tables for F*ck Me I'm Famous last year...

It also pissed me off that they were playing hip-hop in the front room of Mansion last year during FMIF. Like what the fuck...seriously...

I love the size of Mansion, have absolutely no problem with the look of the girls that go there, and it's probably the biggest venue down here. But must say their system is shit for a venue that size. And what they did @ Tiesto a few weeks back was a fucking joke, and if they do the same thing during conference it would be a disgrace. At Tiesto it was even worse than last WMC, as you could not get onto the dancefloor in front of the stage at all, which is the majority of the mainroom floor. So what then happens is everyone and their mother tries to pack into the sides and bars and a major clusterfuck ensues. That just sucks and is not conducive to a good time, especially when you have a club packed with 1000s during conference week IMO.

In the end it makes no difference to me, I will be at Corsten and maybe Tenaglia that night. Only thing that will get me to Mansion during WMC will be Tiesto - assuming I can afford the $1000 they will probably charge for him

yeah I had the same thought
like...you realize you just payed $40 to listen to the same crap that gets played at every club/bar in the universe

plus it woulda been nice to be able to go out into the front room and chill at the bar and listen to the set from the main room, and maybe watch it on a tv or something..

i figured this would happen, for SnD not as bad an idea, space isnt big enough and they can go crazy on the visuals there, although i really wish they could fix the sound, it is horrid, echoes and all, but they put on a great show so i prolly end up showing up to this even though its Mansion, which i will agree that i dont give a flying fuck about hot people and all when im going to here music, dancing room and chill spots that dont cost 2838764 dollars, but it is what it is

which party will have ANY bit of dancing room?

I'd be there if it were just a regular night in Miami. But because it's WMC, Mansion will def tax on it.

i was there in 2004 for s+d when they didnt have any tables on the dancefloor and I had fun ... but having vip tables take up the main dancefloor seems kind of gay to me! do I want to pay 50/60 to stand around the edges of the dancefloor? errrrm probably not.
