hmmm Armin's by himself on 3/9. extended set?

gonna try to make the drive down for it.

Posted by mar46017 on Jan-26-2007 19:02:

I'll take the drive down for Armin as well. Markus will be in LA the night after. (Presale was at 15 for Markus and 20 for Armin last I checked!)

I haven't seen either, but probably can't make both.

Who will deliver a more memorable experience?

haha bob played an AWESOME very proggy trance set this past weekend. fucking loved it.

Whats a proggy set?

Sorry, I'm a noob.

I'm surprised you guys remember Markus and Armin's sets from Monster. They are both amazing DJ's so I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.

what club in SD are they playing?

Armin in SF has never been blah. He does play different in socal though.

Armin > Markus

Does Blank and Jones ever play San Diego? Saw 'em a Heaven a couple years ago, but wasn't crazy about the drive..

Armin was fun at On Broadway, but that was a mid-week special event. A Friday crowd might not have the trance die-hard vibe. Still, will probably go.

Be Cool!

im definetly taking the trip to see armin on 3/9!!! cant wait ahaha tickets are in the bag (: i think markus and armin are equally good they both have there good days and bad nothing but quality comes out of those speakers!

I swear TCA had B&J listed at On Broadway at the end of Feb at one point or maybe it was March but it's no longer listed. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, though.

Markus' monster massive set was easily the worst one I've heard from him live...he was all over the place during the last half of his set and lost the energy he built up during the first half.

Still would love to see him live, though....even though I'm still upset.

No kidding about Armin. I've seen him in LA many times and have never come away blown away. I think besides one night ever (maybe twice) in SF he has been OMFG 100% of the time!!!

Seems like a robot in LA with his sets and just plays too ASOT for me...while in SF he really feeds off the energy and the opener and just brings it. Armin in SF is a key reason why I think openers are so essential and why SF openers are just so great compared to any other city around. His July 3rd set was definitely one where he fed off of Alain & Syd Gris' tag-team set. Their progression into him was just like...PERFECT. You knew the energy had such great momentum when Armin came on and he just kept it going. And there was a huge crew up from LA who had heard Armin the night before and all were essentially blown away as to how much better his SF set was.

And that's the norm with him between LA and SF. PvD used to be the same way - would hear him in SF and LA and his SF were just so much harder and more powerful and way more energetic. And think until his last stop, Ferry has been much the same way between LA and SF.

Dave
