Your Wii should be glowing blue today. The Wii news channel is now available.

Woke up this morning and saw that nifty glowing effect on my Wii, meaning I had an email to read. It was from Nintendo informing me the Wii news channel is now available. Updated the Wii and checked it out...very cool! They have national news headlines, as well as sections on art, science, business, sports, etc. It is updated every hour.

Just like getting today's (or tomorrow's) newspaper for free! Checked the forecast channel too. 23 degrees today. Burrrr!

I love Nintendo

i mean you tell me how much of a wow-factor that is. I'm not knocking it or nintendo or xbox or myspace or whatever else that uses some form of daily data feeds, just that it seems like its a news item for electronics to have this capability when it's been used for some time now. so to me it shouldn't be a news item but a built in capability when you purchase whatever you purchase

it is simple and effective and should be a standard for any/all news outlets that deliver content to remote sites. i work in the publishing field, i know about content delivery thats why LOL

completely agree with you i think nintendo just wants people to turn the wii on for anything in life now for news..weather..exercise..pretty much to make the wii a way of lifestyle

lol all they need now is a little expresso faucet and their set

if i were to follow up with a decent argument, probably one repetively used against the PS3, i'd say

I don't want the news I bought it because its a gaming console and I only want a gaming console...

lol

to which i counter that this addition of wii news

a) didn't delay the launch date of the console
b) didn't jack up the price of the system
