tap water has fluoride in it = good

wasn't there an article a while back about the plethora of cavities people are getting right now because everyone drinks bottled water as opposed to tap???

Posted by SkyHigh on Jan-27-2007 15:02:

didnt even know about the fluoride untill now...good point

toronto tap water (amongst the cleanest in the world) is in fact clean and cleaner than most tap water that people buy in stores.

Anybody who drinks bottled water is a sucker to advertising/the media.

There is a Brita ad running right now questioning the safety of tap water. Since its launch, Brita has scaled back on the rhetoric. A huge disclaimer has since been added to the commercial.

Recent testing by the Sierra Club found Toronto tap water to be of the "highest" quality...in fact it was found to be better than ALL bottled water.

I found BC tap water to taste much better than Ontario's when I moved but I'm used to it now. I prefer my water to have barley, hops and other stuff added to it now

to those people that don't drink tapwater
whenever you go to a restaurant and you order pop it's tap water.

i've been drinking tap water all my life (in winnipeg, toronto, and london, uk) and i haven't sprouted any extra appendages yet.

why would you pay to drink something that comes out of your tap for free unless you're out and about and need to buy a bottle, or you're in a country where you'll get sick if you drink it? plus, those bottles just create more waste.

the mind boggles.

Link?

Depends on where they did the testing; for instance, at the water purification plant or somewhere down the pipe?
It's not so much the water as much as the infrastructure carrying said water. How old is THAT?

Personally we've been using a high-end, carbon block water filter for the past 10yrs and I swear by it.
It's not that the Toronto water is that bad (I've been in places where it's definitely been much worse) because it's not, but after drinking pure, clean water for so long, you can really tell the difference.

Brittas are a joke unless you just like to take out the particulates (the stuff you can see) but there's LOTS of stuff you can't see that's just as harmful if not more so.
I tend to bunch Brittas in with the same marketing group as the razor and blades (where they ding you on the stuff you need to buy over and over again; the filters).

the water in greater vancouver is one of the cleanest in the world. you can tell the difference just by showering!

i do drink tap water in toronto.

i was watching a mythbusters on bottled water vs. tap water
and there is really no difference in healthiness(other than psychologically).

to be safe, i let the tap run for 30 seconds before drinking it (i hear
this cleans out any built up germs/bacteria in the pipes)
