REVIEW: Creator @ Stereo

Ya thats right bitches i went!
It's all erikas fault for forcing my gf and I into going, which wasnt a very difficult taste when i come to think of it.
ANYWAYS, creator pretty sick on that system though not the BEST set I've heard from you, but i understand the mixer is naf at stereo.
Anyways met some random TAs no idea what your names are cause of the noise.
Good to see, A-Lex, Licks, selma ali, erika, maher doing the lumber jack chop with me, and of course my buddy ANF glad to see you out at stereo again, and last but certainly not least greg for the hospitality.
So ya as for the other TAs, change you TA names to something easier to pronounce and interpret in an afterhours.
k thnx

it was great meeting everyone, music was solid for the most part and the place wasn't too crowded. i'm used to guvernment where you can't even move.
sound system was spectacular, i wasn't there for too long because i had to work today, but my ears aren't muddy at all.

thanks again greg for the kitchen pre-party, hope to chill with all you guys again soon

Fun night, nothing too exciting. Was good but not extra good.

re:

big, BIG thanks for the massive support of that night. Needless to say it was a very special event for me, and you all came with this wicked vibe of yours despite the freeeezing cold.

We were all impressed by the turn out and great energy of this night.

I won't go through all the emotions, but I can say that in 7 years, I have never been so happy to play for all of you. A lot of EDM "connaisseurs" ou there that are really showing their love, and I can't ask for anything more than making those people happy.

It was a very intense blend of stress and pleasure to have such an amazing sound at the end of my finger tips.

(btw I don't think the mixer sucks tag. It is very powerful, it just takes major skills when you play with 2-3-4 elements like Cycloops to blend all this without isolating any frequency. You loose a little flexibility, but it is major fun and it's quite challenging)

Erika, Maher, Allied, Tag, Enigmatik, Summerwolf and everybody else that showed up, it was truely a pleasure

;-)

heh no worries dude it was pleasure comin out and seeing you have fun at the temple of sound... good job last night defenetly did a solid job working crowd

Posted by Allied Nations on Jan-28-2007 01:45:

fuck yeah! that was a cool night full of wicked tunes from both Creator and Villenueve! the warm up was good and definately worked that bass out! (ps dude, take care of your weirdo fans )

i wish i wasn't so absolutely tired last night, i woulda danced for a lot longer!

i was so tired, that after smoking a joint i felt more awake.

wtf logic is that!?

Big ups to villenueve for dropping lose control!

dope shit folks!

No no didnt know mean it sucked, just that its 'weird' anyways i know NOTHING about mixing and equipment stuff but someone told me it's a difficult mixer they have there.
Awesome time either way.

I heart Creator, wikkid wikkid set! (Didnt hear the end of it, sure it was wikkid too).

Kudos as always, I hope Stereo makes the right choice and signs you on as a resident mate, you're the cream of the crop in this city there's no doubt.

Got great fun at stereobar with my friends!

Went see Creator ,danced a bit, excellent set. I could'nt stay longer, but it was nice!

Posted by ImmyJ on Jan-28-2007 18:02:

ha ha ha ha.

closed the storefront and then underwear party (twister, drinks, weirdness). fucking got my dance jones fulfilled and am still extra sore from the last three hours of villeneuve's set. god is alive, magic is afoot. observations:

1. the assumptions made about blankets on the smoking deck are awesome. cuddling up with strangers is what i strive for.

2. did i hear 'unforgiven' at a totally inappropriate time?

3. the last crazies were choice.

4. ha ha ha ha.

paix.

What can I say?It had been way too long since i had graced the floor of the temple, and I must say an adventure always comes of the nights that begin where the bass is best.Creator man, although this set wasn't the tightest I heard from you, you fucking rocked the place and if you need any indacation of how hard, my knees are still twitching. Some deep rumbling baselines that turn the ass and limbs into epilectics were in full force.Fuck trainspotting, that should be enough for you no shows to understand. That system+that sound= a surely soon to be continued episode.Villeneuve did a top notch job as well, a bit all over the place, but hey at 7am who the hell isnt right?Even a record is allowed its moments of sketchdom.Have to thank greg for the hospitality and for the iron chef mixathon that took place in his kitchen.Nick84 and Greg props on beat management.I also truly gained respect for maher, as some of the goodies he pulled out of his bag not only made me fidget in nostalgic wonder, but think only a true beathead would have that record in his bag still to this day.(you know which one you beautiful lebanese bastard, sorry but track of the fucking night)It was great seeing all of you and was a fucking blast.Erika you know whats going down for Sasha, this night will be sick.Special mention to summerwolf for making me feel like i was at the guv at some points of the night Did after 8 for a bit and found a wonderful army of sketchies who hadn't yet had their fill.
The rest of the weekend is a bit of a blur, but you know it can't be that bad when you finally get home on sunday, are missing a sock, and are wearing clothing you can't remember owning.God damn it feels good to be back and even better that i don't work today.

Yes it is but without the second unit, so you don't have Gain/bass/mid/high for each channel. So it's basically a huge crossfader with a kick ass sound. Just needs a certain time to get use to it when you layer your sounds and working with 2-3 bass at the same time... but challenging and fun.

Posted by Alex on Jan-29-2007 17:58:

Creator is my hero!

Posted by Marcus007 on Jan-29-2007 18:06:

wow so wait i dont get it

how do you drop the bass on each individial channel? can you not touch the highs or mids?

you don't. it's just volume and balance(edit) per channel. boom boom boom

However, it does have some filters hooked up right?

Posted by Allied Nations on Jan-29-2007 18:09:

house nation!

I've seen some trance djs mix on a rotary (can't remember names) you just have to be really sneaky and make sure you're shits in key so those overlapping frequencies don't class like fuck

would love to use a urei like that... rewarding challenge! so smooth!
