MoN-SooN - Through Reverie To Fulfilment (soothing trance)

[DOWNLOAD MIX]

Hiya! I'm bringing you fresh soothing trance mix. There are so many top class chill-trance productions these days... the mix was just a matter of time. One of the best things trance can do to you is healing your soul, lol. It can take you on emotional journey, control your feelings and impact your mood. Very often the initial feeling is nostalgy and the origin of the trip is reverie. Again, the cover is essential for the theme. Things you need to assure before listening to the mix are: isolation, solitude, ideally pair of headphones. Good luck!

I'm so on this! I thought you were taking a little break?

I'm not complaining, mind you. So much for getting any work done this afternoon!

naah, it's not me who is taking a break. It is Metatron. Actually I need to double my efforts to fill the gap after Metatron

hope you'll get better with it

I'm still at work, but as soon as I get home, this is getting a phat download and then it's onto a CD for tonight's cardio/weight lifting session.

But from what I can tell so far, it's the usual quality. I wish I could get my phrasing as tight as yours, sir. Nothing sets off a good mix like really good phrasing (for me, at least). I'm working on doing a better job myself, though I find that it's easier said than done.

I wish I could smoke music, because If I could I would load this mix up in a hookah and chill

Espen And Elusive - Poetic Penetration (Furry Nipples Remix)

Thats weird I immediately thought of a 'Soothing' track I owned and this popped up.

I love this sort of mix, downloading now, thanks.

Alright mate, this was a nice mix. I think there was a bit too many tracks in it for the time frame in my opinion (the tracks came thick and fast!), but other than that it was a cool showcase of this sort of trance.
nice one

wahey! that's incredible you thought of Poetic Penetration. Looks like we have similar definition of soothing trance then I'm pretty sure you'll love the mix!

well, I think I got your point. For me, each and every track here is very special and has it's own important contribution. And if something brings you good feelings, why not let it last long? Well, the progress of the mix is subtle, there are no turning points here so it's not easy to follow this kind of chilling mix for 80 minutes - that's right. It is particularly difficult when you neglected any of important factors mentioned in the first post No, seriously, I know what you mean and I might agree with you. Thanks for listening, mate!

hey mate cant wait to hear this one, im just downloadin another mix right now,

always enjoy ya mixes

I've given the first half a proper listen, and so far I am really digging this mix. I especially love the flow of track 1 into track 2. To me, they just fit so well. As always, your phrasing is perfect in my opinion.

Work has been insane, and home is even busier, so it will be this weekend before I get this mix finished up. I'll write more then, sir! Until then, cheers. A loyal fan I remain.

YESSSSSSSSS! This tracklist looks absolutely incredible, so many songs I am obsessing over at the moment! Will definitely have a listen today at work!

Posted by alefort on Feb-06-2007 16:44:

Wow, what a mix!

Loved every second of it!

Pros:

- Mixing is flawless, Beatmatching impeccable.
- Phrasing is topnotch throughout (Zoso, I totally agree, )
- Track Selection and inherent set flow is amazing.
- You played some of my current favorites at the moment and a few remixes that I did not know even existed (Niklas' Remix of Zocalo and Morph's Remix of Without You Near)
- I got completely lost in the mix, before I knew it, the set was starting over and I figure I accidentally hit the replay button while the set was playing.

Cons:

- You had me to engrossed in the first half, it was amazing. This set up for the second half, which I felt didn't live up to the first half. Nothing huge though.

That is pretty much the only problem I have with this set.

Score: 9.4/10

I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for awesome beats with vocals that will remain with your thoughts as the day goes by. This is definitely one of the better sets I have heard lately, and definitely the best February Effort.

Looking forward to your next mix.

I totally agree with Alefort with the coments he made, a great set with a beauty of a tracklist, excellent beatmatching and timing.

The only reason that the "second half" didnt live up to the first half IMO is because you jumped it a bit on the BPM's from 10-11, but apart from that, a very very solid set.

Posted by MoN-SooN on Feb-06-2007 21:22:

wow, thanks guys (alefort, jacques) for your comforting comments and your high rate alefort
Well, the idea to raise the bpm near the end was to emphasise we're going for fulfilment, like you're ready to accomplish something or make a decision or whatsoever. You finish the set encouraged.
In my opinion, the second half could appear a little less catchy because of 3 kinda similar tracks in a row (shah, relocate, steur). I should have used only two of them.

So so glad you enjoyed it the way I wanted it to be enjoyable happyyy Cheers!

Review:

You have a lot of tracks I like which is a plus. The mixing seems pretty solid throughout.

Thumbs up

Full review:

1. I love the first track, the melody is so catchy.

The transition into the next track is baby bum smooth, goddamn. I haven't heard the original versions of the two songs, but I had to listen to it a couple of times to hear the transition. Seamless trans are always impressive to me.

10 -> 11 *Gasp* Clashing melodies make me very very sad

Overall:

The overall progression of the mix is really nice. It's starts out melodic and dark and moves into a much brighter mix at the beginning of the second half.

The track list is superb and the only downside are those couple of transitions with miss matched melodies. With a mix like this where melodies are so integral, harmonic mixing is like the wonderful icing on the cake.

I give this mix 2 yums. Yum yum!

Give yourself a pat on the back.

Posted by MoN-SooN on Mar-08-2007 18:14:

Thanks a lot for your comments and appreciation. Yes, this probably my best mix in non-technical way, i.e regarding the feelings I wanted to picture. All the tracks are doing their job and it evolves from darker moods to brighter (that's a nice word for it) melodies. I'm also very happy with the transitions in the first half. In the second half, some of them could be more harmonizing - I agree. Nonetheless, what makes this set unique is the cohesion and climate it builds when you're having a full experience. I'm glad you were able to feel it. Cheers for that! and lol @ yums

Just thought I would add another reply to this thread......

This set just came on my playlist and I remember now how good it was. And it still is! The emotion throughout the set is perfect. Toss this on when you are in the car driving and the sun is out. It completely raises the mood instantly and is a perfect compliment to a sunny day!

Kudos Mon-Soon, incredible progression throughout, still love it!
