ATB - Trilogy

What do you guys think after listening to samples?

Posted by RebeL9 on Jan-30-2007 18:35:

I didn't feel anything special.

Posted by Spartan on Jan-30-2007 18:47:

I feel a tingling sensation in my pants.

Sounds pretty good, esp "Dooley's World", "A Dream About You" and "Heaven's Door", he always makes some really nice chilled tracks. They are better than his trance-dance-pop stuff he churns out IMO. "Heaven's Door" reminds me somewhat of "Circular Symetry" one of the best tracks on his last album. I think of ATB focused more on chill stuff, which he seems to be trying to..I think he'd be alright. However, there will still be people who will think of him as cheesy and sappy and such. But he really needs to either get rid of the vocal tracks or get new vocalists..they are terrible. "Renegade" sounds to be among the worst...

I really feel these are the best tracks out of that batch:

Alcarda
Beautiful Worlds

The rest of the samples don't do anything for me. Although, I do love how polished these tracks sound. They have a great punch and clarity to them. I wish I could master tracks like this.

edit: I'm also have taken a liking to that track called Justify (Adam Nickey Remix)

Alcarda and Beautiful Worlds aren't bad. Heaven's Door isn't crap either. But it's all pretty samey, poppy, been-there-done-that, with awful vocals throughout; about what I expect from ATB.

Yeah it's pretty much the same as his other albums...almost identical to his last album. The guy just doesn't make anything different than the same basic..uplifting, melodic stuff. As much as I like that stuff, he just needs to branch out into possibly some darker or not so..sappy, pop music all the time. But I do see some potential in his more chilled out music.

Sounds like ATB to me. Funny thing is, I never liked ATB.

Posted by tetatdo on Jan-31-2007 08:38:

Wtf? when is this album coming out?

Posted by KilldaDJ on Jan-31-2007 14:42:

ditch the vocalist and the vocals, the vocal driven stuff im not so keen on, focus more on the music = ftw

I only liked Movin' Melodies.

First time I've seen this abbreviation, and easily the best thing contained within this thread.

All of ATB's CDs are "pop", that's what he makes...mainstream, european dance music with some chill out tracks mixed in.

In that case he's churned out a masterpiece

Well, the chill disc is quite good in quality imo.

Posted by Minhaj on Apr-29-2007 05:02:

disc 2 is really great. i love Searching for Satellite. best song on the album. as for disc one: some catchy POP tunes in there..desperate religion is ok, so is the atb/heather nova collabs. i ll wait for the remixes for Justify, album version sucks. alcarda and beatiful worlds (more like alt+f4(atb remix)) are pretty kool too.

Posted by CrazedOut on Apr-29-2007 05:23:

thanks for reminding me what album to download tonight

Posted by wizniz on Apr-29-2007 14:57:

atb looks like my piano teacher...

anyways in his defence, let u go is a decent track that could be electro house remixed into a fucking choon, ecstasy and marrakech are among my fav chill songs, too.

Posted by chrisday on Apr-29-2007 15:47:

Slightly cheesey, but I love the first track on the second CD.(trilogy the final chapter) Great intro, beautiful piano riff.

Arcadia is a great track. Some other good stuff to.

There are samples on trackitdown.net you can also purchase it there.
