Solarstone - "The Calling 2007"

Release date: End of Feb
Label: Solaris Recordings

Original Inner Peace Mix
Original Still Waters Mix
Ambient Mix
Jonas Steur Remix
Beetseekers Remix

Have only heard the Beetseekers Remix of this and it's beautiful!
Still haven't heard Orkidea or Steur Remixes but looking forward to them all.

Beetseekers Remix was featured on TATW 149

As far as I know, Beetseekers wasn't really allowed to remix the track the way he wanted to, but was given quite strict orders on how it should sound like.

I'm only getting this for the originals which I've wanted for so long but never had. The rest are just pointless.

Yeah it's pretty blatent that it's quite 'generic', but it does the job i guess. Was actually hoping for a much better remix by him.

Well, I was asked for more Anjuna style remix. Sometimes labels want certain things from remixes or make suggestions. But I quess I succeeded if it was featured on TATW

I think Orkidea did quite good job with his remix.

No offense, but that says alot about how the trance industry runs these days.

I wouldn't really make compromises for anyone myself. I guess that's why I never get asked to remix anything either

I have heard Orkidea remix and have to say that man... his productions are nowso much worse than Unity or remixes of Stage One / Labrynth were.

Oh well, at least you know you can pull off the Anjuna style.
I'm actually surprised (more disappointed) that Rich & Andy even wanted an Anjuna style remix

Wouldn't you rather have remixed it the way YOU wanted it?

...and yet A&B keep saying in the interviews that they sign only unique sounding productions... Hypocritical bullshit.

Oh, I didn't get the remix request from Solarstone boys. Don't even know if they are involved with Solaris since they are already running Deepblue?

Of course I always prefer full artistic freedom but I'm also open for suggestions. Opportunity to remix Solarstone track, I was actually quite honoured. And I've released uplifting trance before as well: "Halite - Extravagance" on Afterglow so it's not that I don't like the genre at all.

Jonas Steur's remix is pretty decent. It's way better than that uninspired Orkidea remix.

Here's a [[ LINK REMOVED ]]

I don't know where it's ripped from but somehow I found this track 8 months ago already. It's almost full length. Shows how slow some labels are...

Could it perhaps be becuase they maybe and just maybe like the Anjuna sound? I know, its so outrageous to think so!

Well i would rather have Beetseekers make a remix that was 'his' not theirs. But all is done and it's still good.

if you already got one remix with the anjunasound why would you like all of them to sound the same? whats the purpose of remixing then? I thought it was to have tunes sound different from eachother

I don't quite know which of the existing mixes sounds Anjunaish as I've not heard the package, but Solarstone are perfectionists and it shows in their productions, some of which still withstand the test of time. They wanted a specific approach to the remix and approached a person who they thought could deliver it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Occassionally you will want a remix from someone and just let them go at it their own way, sometimes you know specifically what type of sound you want. It really goes both ways, and its up to the remixer to accept or decline the offer.

Jonas Steur Remix is really excellent...I had a rip of it and thought it would never get a release...I was wrong...
One of the best tune by Solar Stone for me...

So far I've heard Orkidea, Beetseekrs and Jonas Steur remixes.
I can easily say that the Beetseekers mix is the superior of the 3.

I quite like the Orkidea remix as well. But I think it get just a tad bit over the top with the piano melodies..

Not overly fond of the Jonas Steur remix to be honest I dun think there is anything special about it..
