tickets galore (for perth people :P)

hi i was wondering when the tickets for paul van dyk/armin/scot bond will be on sale? are flyers for any of the events even out yet... i havent been into town for a while...

Posted by ascension on Mar-31-2002 07:28:

armin isnt coming with gatecrasher in may i dont think...

pvd is on a thurs nite in the globe... should be a cheap one

check for info at teknoscape

i havent been out and about for a while, so i havent seen any flyers yet...

Posted by dr me on Mar-31-2002 23:09:

If both gc and pvd are in may then i dun think i can afford both. i think gc with scott bond will be more uplifting. what do yous think?

Posted by ascension on Apr-01-2002 06:16:

GC will be more expensive than PVD i reckon...

as far as styles go... well i'll be first to admit that im not the resident PVD expert here, so i wont bother trying to predict what he'll play... i have one of his livesets and it was a good mix of uplifting and prog... i guess similar to Tiestos a few weeks back at 2 tribes...

from what i remember of scott bond at gatecrasher, he pretty much spun epic...

if theres a choice i'll be at PVD... but i'll be trying for it not to come down to that

Posted by Fraggle on Apr-01-2002 10:55:

wow!!!

ahh, any more info on this pvd tour?!?!?! i see it's in may...

i expect (hope) he's doing the east coast too...i musta been hididng under some mouldy rock for the past while...damn i better not miss this pvd tour

Posted by Drifter on Apr-01-2002 14:33:

yeah PVD!!! PVD!!! PVD!!! fark yeah

Posted by dr me on Apr-01-2002 23:10:

still quite a decision. epic is good but expensive, trance/progressive is a bit of a gamble but cheaper, hmmmmm.

i have managed to get a couple of non electronic music fans to join me so i need to impress them with some good trance.

Posted by ascension on Apr-02-2002 06:46:

fraggle - i spose you've probably found the whole thread on the PVD tour by now... and i guess there'll be more info at pvd's site... which i cant remember the name for sorry hehehe
im pretty sure he's doin syd and melb too

dr me - if ur out to impress non-electro loving friends.. then GC is def the way to go... theres probably alot of trance loving ppl out there who dont take to progressive too well

Posted by Jah on Apr-02-2002 09:49:

well i went into town checked ou thte usual record stores no info so far no flyers nothin good all dnb/breaks shit damn perth is dominated by that crap i like to keep an open mind but everyone is so obsessed with it oh well soon i hope... on a brighter note i got the vinyl of the classic Josh Wink - so hows your evening so far with the crazy pascal peos mix! yeah!

Posted by Fraggle on Apr-02-2002 10:25:

heheh, actually i didn't see the pvd thread 'til u mentioned it ascension

...but then i found i had replied to it too!!! hahahahh

err...damn my brain must be rotting

anyway, thanks for pointing us in the right direction!

Posted by ascension on Apr-02-2002 14:01:

^^^^

ahahaha nice one matey

which brings me to my next point children... dont smoke crack

Jah - i know wat u mean bout Perths local scene... however when all the big name trance djs come out, it seems as tho all the tranceheads come out of hiding
i dont mind abit of breakbeat and drum and bass myself tho

i was wondering tho - where do u find are good places to buy vinyl?? as in good trance vinyl... cos im hoping to get decks real soon and that sorta info would be helpful

me too

you da man ascension

Posted by Tak on Apr-05-2002 07:02:

Yeah ascension, if you want vinyls I've been looking for awhile as i got my decks in Feb.
The best I've found is DJfactory in northbridge, they usually have good tracks.
My mate works at Central station but out of a list of 30 tracks old and new (some released that day) they tought they could only get 3. Last week Tiesto - Urban train came in and that was the first.
I've resorted to the internet but the fucking shipping cost was 75 Euro bucks for 7 vinyls, that puts the cost in AUS$ from around 13 each to 30!!! I daid get some killer tracks that way but.
just keep looking.

PS does anyone know if PvD or GC are 18+ or not, I'm 17 and the only ID i have is a student travel card, which the globe doesn't take. I managed to get into the Metro with it for Two Tribes but that was lucky.

hey ascension being in the geographically challenged position we are dude ebay is the way to go i just hooked up with a really great seller and as we speak i have eugina highlander endless wave and more on the way he gets some really awsome stuff just look around ebay otherwise i do hit the regular central station/dj factory (on james st its pretty good) and dance arena it all works out the same and usually they are pretty good (considering with perth) to have a few good releases like the dj factory usually has all the new good trance releases i remember seeing arcane - somewhere there and freaking out and you can find a few gems in central station and dance arena too y ou just gotta look hard but dont expect to have influxes of greatvinyl suited to y our taste like is aid fucking dnb.
ebay is the way to go for that find some really great stuff on there
but other thatn that give the locals a go there not all bad

Posted by Jah on Apr-05-2002 10:14:

need turntables!

yo tak didnt see your post there man hey
how much did your decks run you i have a shitload of good vinyl now but i need to fork out on some decks and a semi decent mixer?
got any connections :P?

Posted by ascension on Apr-05-2002 11:20:

tak... i'd say theres a 99.95% chance that PVD and GC will be 18+ - being intimate events they'll prolly be more strict on security so i'd say your best bet is to find a way to switch armbands with someone who's already been in... and to do a good job of it

thats for the info on vinyl guys... i'd like to start buying vinyl now, but if i spend on vinyl then its gonna take me even longer to have enuf moolah for decks

i wonder if i have any rich relatives...

haha dude my problem exactly tell me when/where/how much you get your decks for if you do please ascension i really wann hunt around

Posted by ascension on Apr-07-2002 08:38:

i'll definately be getting them second hand, cos theres no way i can afford new decks... tho if you're after new decks, the dj factory is the cheapest ive heard of... $1860 for 1200s and $2000 for 1210s

Posted by Jah on Apr-08-2002 11:17:

yeah i just went there today told me the exact same thing!!!!!
got some awsome vinyls too Scorchio, Everywhere i go (push remix)
and DJ Garry - Dream Universe!!!!! <----- WICKED

Posted by Lanithium on Apr-20-2002 04:36:

centralz have been getting alot of good shit in lately.. guess u just have to beat me to it cos i pick up all the good stuff as soon as it comes in :P

if ur buying new gear.. go to kosmic sound... i recently bought a complete setup from them, 2x technics 1210 mk3's, pioneer djm600, 2x mackie srm450's and they did me a really good deal, saving me around $500 all up on their price.. which in return is already $100's cheaper than anywhere else.

Posted by Jah on Apr-20-2002 06:50:

if you dont mind me asking how much was your total price causei just forked out 1300 (approx) on 2 mk2s (second hand) and a alright mixer with brand new ortofon carts?

Posted by Lanithium on Apr-20-2002 07:52:

2 x Technics 1210 MK3: $1900
2 x Mackie SRM450 : $3800
1 x Pioneer DJM600 : $1950
: $7650
