With baby on the way, I'm trying to scale down my set up slightly.

I was looking to hook these up to my computer and use these for monitoring purposes.

I'm looking for a second opinion if anyone uses computer speakers for mixing.

I use logitech z2300s. They are inexpensive (150) and LOUD. Good clarity as well. They were rated really well on CNET.
