Tiësto launches one of the first Microsoft Vista applications

Alright what the hell is with this GUY ....

I never really was into the Tiesto bashing, never really cared ... BUT THIS ...

quote:

Tiësto launches one of the first Microsoft Vista applications
Last night Microsoft launched their new operating system, Vista, for the consumer market in Amsterdam. Marking yet another first for Tiësto, he now has his own Vista application available via www.tiesto.com.

Last night, Amsterdam was the setting of Microsoft's launch of the new operating system for the consumers market in the Netherlands. Soon the new Microsoft Vista system will replace Windows XP on every PC. Microsoft UK collaborated with Robbie Williams to create a version of the application similar to Tiësto's, which has been developed in close collaboration with Microsoft for the launch in the Dutch market.

The new Tiësto application takes full advantage of the possibilities of Microsoft Vista. The user may follow Tiësto on tour in a dynamic surrounding, and allows the user to have their own DJ booth to listen to the latest music and watch the newest videos.

People who have already installed Vista on their computer can download the Tiësto application for free from www.tiesto.com, which will easily integrate the application onto their desktop. This allows Vista users to stay up-to-date with the latest Tiësto news in both an innovative and interactive way.

Wouldn't you? It's not like it'll make a difference for him anymore...

i think his 15 min will be more like half an hour

What's wrong with promotion?

It's just a creative way of saying that he (or rather his marketing team) has created a desktop widget.

I don't see anything wrong with this.

But as usual, ensue the Tiesto bashing.

but what?
you seem to have a problem with it but did not mention what exactly is bothering you about Tiesto and Microsoft collaboration.

Lets face it anyone and everyone will hate on him for anything he does or doesnt do just because he is Tiesto. And threads like these dont really do anything except for create more talk about Tiesto and Microsoft which is what they want.

Exactly. It never changes. Fack. Good for him, I say, for being creative as you said it Chris.

I think it is funny, but you don't get to the top by not getting your name out there one way or another.

Everyone does it, deal with it!

but ... nothing ... just surprised he is doing something with vista... there is nothing bothering me about it ... just surprised ...

I have nothing against him ... sure he made a few bucks good for him...

and big deal if stupid threads like this do nothing but create more talk or even start more tiesto bashing or even Vista bashing ... after all what are these forums for??

What's wrong with that, sounds pretty cool to me.

Do you think Tiesto personally labels all his sets that are on the internet?

Yeah, because a guy like Tiesto has time to take out of his tour schedule to throw down a recorded set for a radio mix. He's one of the busiest touring DJ's around.

And, if he doesn't, you really think less people will go to his shows?

i dont get it, does this mean that all the busy dj's always play a prerecorded mix on the radio?

he is quite smart or is paying one good marketing team to do a great job.

I think a lot of sets are pre recorded for radio shows.

I believe (if I'm not right, feel free to correct me) that Tiesto made a business decision not to worry about the radio world that often and concentrate on his own production, tour schedule, and upcoming performances. He's never been much of a radio guy.

Guys like Armin and Markus have had an established radio show for years, and I think they factor that into their schedule where-as Tiesto doesn't have time, or the need to do so. If you really need/want to catch a radio set from Tiesto, there's always the Essential Mix he has recorded nearly every year.

As for DJ's airing pre-recorded sets, I'd be pretty amazed if a DJ records a set 'live' (as in studio, not live in concert) these days just for radio play. Armin we all know has gone to using Ableton and a lot of the guests I've had on my show personally send me a monthly mix that they send out to multiple shows/stations.
