Ofcourse he's posted tons of this stuff before. That's kind of hard to miss. I'm not playing stupid, it's simply doesn't propagate anything but an anti-war sentiment, which is a natural reponse if you don't censor out the reality of war, something that should never be censored out. If you can't handle it, don't support it and campaign against it. Simple decision really. I know what you're saying but if we were really that interested in the specifics, we're intelligent enough to go out and find it for ourselves.

The point was there's nothing to debate here; it's just simple vomiting by someone who obviously doesn't have anything constructive to say other than to see their own posts and make whatever the hell statement they're trying to make.

I don't have any big problem with it personally, except that I don't think it facilitates a meaningful or intelligent discussion.

I mean, what is the point, exactly? That in a war, people might kill each other? Wow, thanks for the refresher course - I had almost forgotten! Also, considering that he never comes back and responds to anything else in the threads he makes, which constitute his only participation in the forum as far as I can tell, it strikes me as borderline spam.

Add in the fact that he's been warned about it in the past, and the appropriate response is obvious to me.

If the material were presented in a different way - say, a collection of links to footage and a discussion about the real cost of war, then it might be a different story.

Well, I can't say what his intentions are, but it is a political statement which has some place in PDD. Although, you do certainly have a point there which I fully understand. Better presentation and providing some context would definetly help, atleast when it comes to any discussion.

I think that the difference is that his posts are just pro-death. I think you'd be horrified if the US news and the pro-Americans on here were posting similar snuff films like the sniper vids he was posting before, if it were US forces shooting insurgents. There'd be a hell of a lot more of them to watch if we did support that sort of morbidity in the media all of the time. Most of the pictures that you see that with dead and wounded (both Americans and Iraqi civilians) are showing the casualties of war and the sadness of it all, while this is shown purely to brag about their "sucesses."

Actually, I think all the gory shit that's taken place during the course of this war should be exposed in the media to be honest. Yes, it's not pleasant, it's gross, but it's reality. And we need to start dealing with it instead of ignoring it.
