Deep Dish?

What is the Deep Dish 021 like? I heard the first few tracks and I loved em. What is the rest like? Any Good?

Thumbs down deep dish sux

deep dish is commercial, they played their remix in the radio, and people liked it, and u call that underground djs.
GU 21 not my cup of tea nothing special about it.

If you like the first couple tracks, I'm sure you'd like the rest of the cd.

Posted by uberclkgtr on Mar-31-2002 22:37:

Deep Dish commericial? Whatever...

The GU021 disk is awesome. As DJ Fien said, if you liked the first few tunes, you'll like the rest. Both discs rock.

Posted by dazzed on Mar-31-2002 22:49:

well i like the intro tracks to both cds. i don't really care for the rest of the tracks. thats just me

dazzed

By the way, just Friday I saw the Deep Dish boys do a 6 hour set at my local club which they are residents at. They do this every other month. They were off the hook as usual.

I realize dirty progressive house isn't everybody's cup of tea, but if you like that sort of music, then get the CDs, as Deep Dish are some of the best out there doing that style.

Yeah, if you like that genre of house then Deep Dish is as good as it gets. I love their new CD, but I do have to be in the mood for it.

And yes, I think that we are damn lucky to have them as residents @ Buzz!!!!

Deep Dish's GU021=ZZzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZ. Check out yoshiesque 1 and their renaissance ibiza release. Those are the better of their works.

IMO Deep Dish is FAR from commercial! ATB is commercial...Deep Dish might be considered somewhat commercial in the progressive scene,so I could see what you mean Nucleogenesis...but nevertheless still have an awesome underground style and are definitely top producers

Yeah good album.

As a progressive fan I've heard better (did they really need to put Rapture on there?) but well worth the $45 AU in my opinion.

i admire GU021!!!
i'd say you could be disappointed by it if you expect both cds to be in the style of the first track of each disk
but the tracks that are most memorable from the disk for me were:

16 B feat. Morel - Escape (Driving To Heaven)
Dido - Thank You (Deep Dish Unreleased Mix)
Vaiio - Rapture
BT - Shame
Blackwatch pres. Professor Okku - Word Unspoken
Fatboy Slim - Sunset (Bird Of Prey)
John Creamer & Stephen K - I Wish You Were Here

but very good dark mood overall

btw, i have a question, what are those two "acapellas" listed on the back of the case?
Boogie Balo feat. Roxy Chocolate & Peanut Butter
Louie "Balo" pres. Gudiding Light feat. Jeannie Hopper

I agree... the first track on each cd is incredible... Escape and Shame are masterpieces (imo). But you forgot envy - faith on your list of best songs on the cd

Both guys from Deep dish spun in vancouver a while back......very boring, they spun a couple good tracks but otherwise it was a sleeper set.

Very Wrong IMO. There are some dark progressive Album's that i would say is ZZZzzzzzzZZZZ, but personally i think GU021 is awesome. Sasha ibiza and this album i think are the best of GU IMO.

I've seen deep dish couple times live and they are awesome. They throw it down harder ilve then on this cd though from what i've seen. Still i love this cd.

SSHH - HOld that body is mah favorite track on this album.

Posted by pinoying on Apr-06-2002 07:39:

the new deep dish gu album is pretty sick. its not boring if youre into progressive house but i admit, i dig the stuff and still found myself skipping tracks. like whoever said it before me, i do have to be in a certain mood to listen to it. honestly, i'd have to say this is one of the worst compilations i've heard from them. if youre looking to get into some deep dish, i suggest the yoshitoshi and renaissance in ibiza albums.

(by the way, the best track on GU021 is dino lenny - i feel stereo...)

By the way, if you're into the first couple tracks on the CDs, especially 16B's "Escape" which features the vocals of Morel, then check out Morel's latest album "Queen of the Highway". Awesome stuff.

Also, a couple of his other tunes are quite good - "Funny Car" (esp. the Hydrogen Rockers mix) and "True (Deep Dish mixes)".

I love both cd's! not the best GU though but its well worh a listen
