Hey my fellow NY'er I am also from NY but live in Naples Italy now. If you want a good inexpensive place to stay check www.hostelworld.com or www.bookings.nl, you will find all sorts of places to stay from all different ranges. I am staying on a houseboat in Amsterdam for that weekend, They are some of the best accomodations you will see Amsterdam and Amsterdam is a walking city, very easy to get around, Send me PM and lets talk...
