Importing sounds into FL Studio?

Okay, a while back I did some recording of various sounds, things like my friend's motorcycle firing up, a thunderstorm, another friend's muscle car revving up...

my question is this, I have these sounds on a CD, I recorded them via Shure sm-57 microphone into a hardware DAW and than burned them to CD...is there any way I can import these sounds into FL Studio 6?

For example, I'd like to use the motorcycle sounds as an intro to a song, anyone have any idea how I could do this?

I've read numerous tutorials, even the FL Studio Bible, but nothing covers importing sounds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks ahead of time

Add audio clip or just drag and drop the sample onto the playlist.

rip the cd to wav and cut the samples and save them

Okay, one more dumb question...I can only import the sounds as wma. on my computer, what's the easiest way to convert them to wav.?

FL Studio doesn't recognize wma. files.

why only wma?

are you ripping from CD? use itunes or soundforge...or a different program that allows you to rip to different formats.

to convert from wma > wav you can use soundforge and probably any other audio editing software (free one = audacity).

Uhm, I think wma is not compatible with FL. But you can rip the tracks to wav or mp3 using CDex ( http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ ). It's a free tool.
Then you can just drag the files into the playlist in FL Studio. It's really easy.

audio recording 101: wave > mp3 "quality wise"

no you can't import wma files. download an audio converter and convert your audios to wave format and then insert an audio clip and open your wave in it..

its really that simple
