who's sick of the bloody radio stations

this is not about ur fav tunes at the moment it's about just tunes u realy hate which are always on the radio or are just plain crap........eg kasey chambers - am i not pretty enough.....fuck me its annoying the first time i heard now its makes me wanna chuck the radio out of the window, whats worse they play on one station i change to another straight away and what happen its fuckin playing on the other station
daniel bedingfield - i gotta get through this........what the hell is with his voice, what he do record the song when he was ten.
and obviously no trance is played on the radio ever period
I just don't bother listening to the radio now...cheers cds thank god for pvd

Posted by resisted on Apr-01-2002 04:04:

Thank god I'm not the only one.

I mean I'm all for supporting Aussie talent (she is Aussie yeah?) but fuck me that song pisses me off. Arguably the most annoying song on radio? I mean even "Hey Baby" can sound good if you're drunk enough.

News flash to the Aus-stereo network: she can't sing, and the song's crap anyway. The ad for her CD says that "Not Pretty Enough" is a song that's "touched my heart", to which I say balls. It makes me want to stick a screwdriver in my ear and prise out my ear drums.

Now let me guess. I bet after posting this message one of you turn out to be related to her or something?

I have given up listening to radio stations after the KissFM and the other Trial radio stations 'failed' to obtain a licence and forced to shut down.
It seems Nova FM is triying to make some ground on Teenage listeners and off course still sticking with the main stream music lightly sprinkled with trancey tunes!(and can't stand that mix of Timo Maas'es Ubik They've been playing with the lyrics of some other song) .
Do as I do; if u wanna listen to radio stick with AM and tune in to the NEWS RADIO at least you will know whatz going on around the world and its commercial free. There is nothing on FM

(PS: Its also very funny that NOVA FM launched right after the failed bids of very popular KissFM, StreetFM, which are pumped Trance and Techno almost all day long. And Nova is like triying to capitalize on that experience or vacuum created by denying a free licence to those stations. Did you know that a commercial FM radio station permit costs around $6million(which NOVA had)in Victoria. Now that "nuisance" independent FM stations eliminated Nova can make some big bucks under the disguise of competing with other commercial FM stations. Its pathetic> I HATE THEM......)

Mate you are so right !!

I stopped listening to it 4 years ago !!!
Here in sydney, radio is a fucking joke. Can't stand all that aus-stereo bullshit that gets played on 2day fm.
As for NOVA, fuck 'em. They're too busy trying to hook up teenage listeners than to provide decent music.

There used to be a station I listened to many years ago called 2SER 107.3. It used to play quite a bit of underground house/progressive/trance coz dj's like nik fish , nervous, john ferris used to be there.
Now they all seemed to disappered somewhere and we're left with jack shit !!

Posted by ascension on Apr-02-2002 06:59:

ey warpbros... we dont have it THAT BAD in Perth...

every sat night from 10 - 3ish?!? 96.1 broadcasts live from the church (a club in Perth) which plays some funky house earlier... then moves on to hardhouse/hard trance/epic later on in the night

and on friday night theres another live broadcast with someone mixing house from some hotel or other.. on 92.9

then theres always rtrfm (92.1) which has various mix ups on diff days... i just tune in and hope to get lucky

sometimes theres jack shit on tho... and i feel so blessed that my car came with a 10 stacker cd player hehehe

ps - that kasey chambers song aint THAT bad... at least she wrote it herself which actually makes her a musician with some ability

Posted by Drifter on Apr-02-2002 07:13:

yeah good point ascension but on sat nights 10 to 3 there is some pretty good music then but mostly at that time i'm not home ie out so kinda useless to me.....
shit totally forgot about 92.1, never listened don't suppose u know what times the *good* music are
10 stacker ehhh good ol one stacker for me what car you got??

yeah i admit having musical talent is a gift but hey everybody in some way is a critic

Posted by ascension on Apr-02-2002 14:09:

no idea when to tune into 92.1 unfortunately... its abit of a hit and miss affair for me im afraid... if u tune in at the wrong time u could probably get abit freaked out cos they play all the "alternative stuff" which electronica fits into i guess...

hehe i have a mighty little corolla sedan... which just happened to come with a $2000 stereo in it... its a beast ahaha
how bout yaself?

Posted by Drifter on Apr-03-2002 04:44:

2000 stereo sweet as
me a 94 laser hatchback but i put in clarion cd player with pioneer speakers (6x9), changed the exhaust......now saving for a decent pair of 12 inch maybe 15 if can fit of jbl's subs along with clarion stacker.....first car so thats okay i guess

Posted by dr me on Apr-03-2002 21:58:

sounds ridiculous but if you wake up early enough on fridays 0100-0600 on rtr there's something called beats per minute which is all electronic. They usually play some trance from about 3am but its variable.

this is hilarious and true

Posted by ascension on Apr-04-2002 05:58:

Drunk

^^^^^

i think i'd rather get some zzzzzzzzz and listen to kasey chambers during the day

Posted by Drifter on Apr-04-2002 10:29:

just a tad early for my liking.....even though most of time i stay up to that time

Posted by Philby on Apr-04-2002 10:46:

In Melb I think on Thurs & Fri nights PBS (102.7) plays some trancey stuff, I haven't actually listened to it myself but a friend recommended it. Can't remember what time either! Hmm this seems to be a useless post lol

back in februrary Triple J broadcasted almost every set of Transmission anthem evolution2 Live.

mark dynamix vs sugar ray
peewee vs beXta
italic, pH, chromatic and Nik Fish & Jumping Jack.

I have the broadcast in mp3 format

As for Nova, they are f*ckin false...yes they are only a BIT different to the other stupid stations. And I hate those gay cheezy ****** tracks like Ian Van Dahl - Will I and Lasgo - Alone. Kosheen - catch aint going on my nerves yet but it will soon will. That tony bloke at saturday midnite shits me.

There's a station around the 100 area that plays trance I think on monday or tuesdays. ahh found some info look below, unfortunately its only available in Sydney.

DJ Korupshn is the host of BFMs Peak Hour, which is a week radio show on 100.9fm Mondays from 4-6pm. Peak Hour features the best in Uplifting and Hard Trance, and its been running for over 2.5 years and has been a success.

Wanna share them somehow? Especially Nik Fish??

Speaking of JJJ, I liked last weeks mixup, I thought it was alright! I think it was only the 2nd or 3rd time I actually made an effort to listen to some of it!

yes you're right, I just came back to edit my post, and I can't remember now which one my friend told me to listen to!!

Thanks for the links Xavier, but it is asking for a login/pw, is it a real private thing or something we are allowed to get?

Posted by Tak on Apr-05-2002 07:13:

what are you guys talking about, trance is good underground, like it is now. If it gets all over the radiostations it'll get corney and pop bitches will go around singing it all day. Keep it to clubs and raves where it belongs, if you want to listen to it get a tape or CD, just make sure you support the artists and buy them every now and then.

If anyone knows the legal side of the copyright laws get back to me. I wanna start playing livesets over RTRFM, mine and other peoples (Like Tiesto, Flemming, Picotto, Marco V, Talla 2xlc, Cosmic gate, Dumonde etc. I don't have enough vinyls to keep it going for more that 1 hour ATM.

Posted by ascension on Apr-05-2002 11:09:

Smiley DJ

^^^^

hang on... so ur gonna be playing other ppls livesets on the radio?? or you'll be mixing it up live??
or both??

either way that'd be cool...

Posted by Ves on Apr-06-2002 14:26:

Hmmm, yes. I would not like trance to become mainstream and to be all over the radio. I think by trance becoming commercial, it will soon deteriorate, and gradually become comparable to the horrid likes of Daniel Bedingfield. Well... that's what I think anyway.

Most of the stuff I hear on the radio is crap! That's why I rarely listen to it. As for tunes which really annoy me:
Kasey Chambers "Not Pretty Enough"
Alex Lloyd "Amazing"
Brandy "What About Us"

...*shudder*

Posted by =alphabeta= on Apr-07-2002 02:35:

Quit YA Wingin' hehehe

Come on dudes sounds like some of you have at least some
reasonable(maybe) stations

but hold that thought for us Tassie fellas,
apart from JJJ with mixup, we got nothin

thank god for AG and TA

Posted by OLi_A on Apr-07-2002 07:31:

the only good thing about radio is the breakfast talk shows, particularily merrick and rosso. i hate the nova 19's cause they play the same songs for ages. i actually dont mind on saturday nights when they start to play some good stuff at around 1ish but who is ever near a radio at that time?

Posted by astroboy on Apr-07-2002 12:34:

To tell you the truth, I agree with Philby, newsradio rox. I sometimes turn on Nova for background noise or classic fm when Im doing homework or studying.
