Hello! M.I.K.E. (PUSH) + TAJ (SF's #2 Dj) & Opening Set by "The Tranceformers" Sat Feb 24th

On Saturday... February 24th Come and experience one of the greatest talents to ever grace 1015's mainroom with His Unique, Hard-edged, Tech Progressive Trance on a night you will not want to miss.

1015 proudly presents:

M.I.K.E.(aka PUSH)

The man behind Trance Anthem hits such as Universal Nation, and Strange World is coming to Rock. 1015 is definitely gonna explode as this man destroys the decks!!!!

Courtesy of The Dj List
Mike aka Dirk Dierick started to DJ at the age of 16. He used the name DJ Mike, which is why, after he also produced under this name, he decided to change his real name from Dirk to Mike in 2001.

Mike is releasing under several project names like Solar Factor, Plastic Boy, Return of the Native, The Blackmaster and of course Push. His style of DJing is very similar to the music he makes, on a hard-edged tech-progressive trance tip. M.I.K.E is at the forefront of Europe's new sound, regularly topping charts in several leading countries.

The story began when an 11 year old boy discovered the potential of samplers and keyboards... At the age of 18, Mike handed his first demo tape to the Antwerp based record company, 'USA Import'. Shortly after, his first record, 'Vision Act' was released on the Atom label in 1992. Mike released a series of successful records before he signed up with Lightning in 1996. This gave him the opportunity to team up with Yves Deruyter, as his producer. Mike was behind YDR hits, 'To The Rhythm', 'The Rebel" and more recently, 'Back To Earth' and 'Spiritual Feelings'. Pole positions in the worldwide dance charts were soon putting the Belgian dance scene firmly on the map.

M.I.K.E's reputation shot through the roof, and although a commercial crossover had never been anticipated, in 1998 'Universal Nation' by push took the world by storm, winning several dance awards, and undoubtedly being recognized as one of the classic records of the trance era. His Push follow up single, 'Strange World', destroyed hundreds of clubs across Europe, in the same vein as 'Universal Nation'. This was followed by yet another blockbuster, 'The Legacy' once again topping all dance charts across Europe and entering the British National charts at #21. Over the years Mike received several music awards including best club singles and best dance-producer, and entered 6 times the national top 40 in the UK.

Mike also teamed up and did remixes for Sinead 'O Connor, Moby, Mauro Piccoto, Bom Funk Mc's, Oliver Lieb.

This kind of success did not go unnoticed, as M.I.K.E. was asked to DJ at some of the best venues in the world, including: 'Gatecrasher' and 'Godskitchen' in the UK, 'Fura' and 'Vel Farre' in Japan, 'Massive and 'Trance Energy' in Holland, 'Limelight' U.S. and the Berlin Love Parade are a few to mention.

MIKE joint forces with Armada for his new Club Elite label. His new single "Turn Out The Light" (under his own name) will be released on Armada's Armind label.

A shot from the crowd at Trance Energy...

More info to come... \o/ - Blurr

lol...

Well, I love ya too Dave...No worries Bro. Ive made a few "small" but noticible changes to my set. Artimus's sound is noticibly different than mine, Electro Proggy House on the edge of Trance is on the agenda, alongside some epical tracks I will bring.

Notice on the flyer it says Artimus Prime Vs Dj Blurr. We are teaming up for this, should be intersting to hear, as we have performed like this before.

This is a defining moment for Artimus, and his welcoming into the world of mainstream club Djing. This is also a dream of mine to open up for a legendary Dj and Producer M.I.K.E. I will make it a point, to be on point this night.

M.I.K.E. - Universal Nation

I found this video of M.I.K.E.

All of my years of raving and partying, this is really one name that echoes in my memories as being one of my Saints.. I remember bumping to the raves and parties playing this Track on some days...

This track is also one of the defining tracks in Trance, and definitely one that I remember clearly as being one of my favorite Anthems of all time.

Great track/video. MIKE's new sound has very little to do with his old Push work. He actually hates it when people mention Push/Plastic Boy to him because he's moved so far away from that sound, concentrating on his MIKE guise and the Club Elite label. Push is what the majority seem to know him best for and that's literally a needle on the haystack's worth of his work. Although he does promise he will come out with massive trancers from time to time, he prefers the proggy-electro-techy style he is going in. It's weird with him because his style changes up so much. Sometimes he'll play nothing but house/progressive/techno/electro, then he'll play a trance set. I don't get it myself sometimes, but it's always a treat to listen to, especially how he weaves the genres together so effortlessly. He also re-launched his forward-thinking dance label: Scanner Digital, which is all about underground sounds. You can find out more on www.myspace.com/scannerdigital He even produces RNB, co-writes for Rock bands, movie scores. He's just an all-around musician. That's what I respect about him so much. He has more aliases than I will ever remember! Also very respected in the techno community as well.

Thanks for the heads up refugee. I definitely will refer to Mike as M.I.K.E. when he comes out, Im also a big fan of his and I still have this vinyl in one of my old crates, to be opening for him is a great honor to me also, as he was really someone I looked up to.

Amazing work from one of the greatest minds in the industry.

I will always remember my roots, this is one man that I'll never say enough about.

Hope you guys can come out for this one, Id like to meet you and Thrax!

I hope to meet all the TA's who'll be in the house this night!!!

Straight outta Compton Good luck opening man, you must feel all tingly inside. I would melt if I opened for MIKE.

Posted by DaveT on Feb-09-2007 08:06:

Damn, refuge said largely what I would have said already

But yeah, MIKE has changed his style drastically over the years, especially in the last couple, and is definitely more into the eletro/tech style these days and pulls out trancier stuff sometimes, too. Anyhow, he's nothing like his Push days of things like Universal Nation (the video).

He's a DJ that when he brings it will flawlessly different genres into a beautiful set.

I would recommend opening in the direction it looks like you and artimus will be going with -- a bit of focus on proggy electro material, but be sure not to overload it too much electro as you don't want the crowd to be burnt on it before MIKE come son. Just my two cents. Do what you want, not my night.

There's another thing I'd like to say, but I'll send it by PM.

Things aren't looking good on me being able to attend. But we'll see. I haven't seen MIKE in some time.

Dave

Thanks Guys...

Yes, I am speaking for both me and Artimus as this is really his debut for the night as a Mainstream Dj. Im excited that we both will play a major part in creating the mood for the night. This night is really his night. Im so excited for him. I really cant wait for all of you to experience our sound.

Yes, Refugee I am a little tingly. who wouldnt be.. This is M.I.K.E!!!

Some of you have PMed me and asked who The Tranceformers are. If you've been to local raves and abroad, you probably have met or ran into Arty. He's a BIG 6 foot fella, white guy that sticks out like a sore thumb amongst a sea of people, with his big Orange Hat, and a Camera.

When I broke away from the Rave scene from 2002-2004, he was out there.. My return back into the rave was in winter 2004, which also marked my return to 1015 Folsom.

I met Arty back in 2001 at a local venue called ORGY, which was operated by Brainchild Events at another local venue back in the day.

I will give more info on our Duo Team "The Tranceformers" later...

Thanks for the heads up refugee and DaveT. Dave I read your PM and I will keep a mental note for that night.

Im currently setting up my evites on Myspace.. Thanks for the PM's already everyone, yes you are on my list!!!!!! Anyone else who would like to be added to my Guestlist, it is now OPEN!

If you only realized how expensive the stuff is to get in NorCal, you'd understand.

I forget the cost I was told a few years ago but it was ludicrous, and know in other cities (like Miami) and in Europe it's MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper. Believe even getting it in Vegas is way less expensive. Which is why clubs that have it in those places use it like it's candy. . Anyhow, that's why they save the Kryo for the special nights most of the time.

Ya, I thought those pis would definitely gather some attention. I love the Kryo on big nights, in seconds the room cools down in an instant. It is one of the many cool effects 1015 has, that never lets down! Not to mention 1015 yeilds some of the best Argon Lazers than any club in S.F.

Those of you who haven't added me to your myspace, and would like to get on my Guestlist for the evening, please click the link below to directly go to my myspace page to add me, or simply email me your first and last name on there and ill add ya!

Artimus's myspace is also below.

myspace.com/seal_cell

Ill be posting a VS mix from me and Artimus soon.

For those of you who are wondering and have asked me... yes, I do still give lightshows.

This night is simily gonna be nuts. I so cannot wait..

My problem with Ten15's laser is that it's not used that much. Is it expensive to run the laser?
