Stupid questions, but interesting

Should public nudity be illegal? Why or why not?

Should public masturbation be illegal? Why or why not?

Should public sex be illegal? Why or why not?

Posted by Frenchie on Feb-10-2007 23:44:

Yay another Bojingly thread.

1-No
Why?: With saying that I think there should be a limit though. As long as you're not walking around naked all the time, I don't see a problem with it. ( Grocery shopping, jogging around, playing out with your kids) Nude beaches are fine, they're getting more and more popular ( more within European counties ). Out in your own lawn, garden back yard is fine as well.

2-Yes
Why?: That is something that should be between you and yourself/partner. No need to share that with the world.

3-Yes
Why: Just no! That's also something that should be kept personal. Yes sex can be a beautiful thing but I don't want to be waiting for the bus and all of a sudden look beside me and see 2 people, or more, getting it on. Have some respect for yourselves.

yes, yes, yes...unless u are a good looking female

Kyle, he said illegal, not legal.

Your answers should be , " yes, yes, yes, unless you're a good looking female".

Posted by Lilith on Feb-10-2007 23:51:

I was trying to think of serious answers for a few minutes but the only thing that I could think of was that some people just really shouldn't be naked.
Actually, a lot of people shouldnt be naked with most westernised countries climbing around 50% or worse obesity rates, the thought of a couple of pink hippos tupping away at it wherever they want is, sorry... its just hideous!

Would you seriously be okay with the fat, ugly people who're too lazy to don clothes?

While we're on the subject of nudity, I got a question for the girls.

I've been to several topless beaches, like South Beach FL, and what I often see is two girls (who are obviously close friends) where one of them is topless but the other is not.

They talk or swim together but it's like one of them tells the other "I disagree with your choice to be topless". LOL it's funny how girls can be close friends and yet be so different in their values. Girls, care to explain?

Agreed, and you should have to get a permit to do it. Just to keep the ugly ones from claiming ignorance and saying that they thought they were hot.

No. And skinny people who have their bones poppin' out everywhere shouldn't either, but we're not discussing looks.

Why? My best friend and I have different morals and values. We were brought up in two different worlds, two different backgrounds with two complete different parents who see life differently. She thinks one way and I think another but I respect and understand her views on things as she does with me.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Feb-11-2007 01:15:

I don't personally want to see naked people walking around, people masturbating in public, or people getting it on in public, either. The main thing I am wondering, though, is this:

Can anyone think of a reason other than "I'd prefer not to see it" to make (or keep) these things illegal?

I am wondering this because we do not consider that a sufficient reason for many other cases. For one example, a number of people are disgusted by clothed "public displays of affection," but those are still legal. For another, many people are also disgusted by seeing interracial couples or gay couples walk hand in hand, but those things are also legal. Is "disgust" a sufficient reason to make or keep something illegal, and if not, are there any additional reasons you could think of to make public nudity, masturbation, and sex illegal?

Posted by Frenchie on Feb-11-2007 01:30:

I think that your question could be better answered if you asked, " Why should we make it legal?"

We're brought up with public nudity of any kind being morally wrong, why change that? Is there any reason TO parade around naked, masturbate or even have sex in public? No. Other than having been brought into the world naked. ( Which isn't a justifiable answer ).

Who's "we"? I guess you've never been to Germany. They have a very different culture there... people relax naked in public parks and town squares.

SURPRISE. I am FROM Germany, but 95% of the people on this board aren't so therefore they are brought up with the mentality that public nudity is wrong. I think if it were legal here it would be disrespect to those who don't find it right. To those who vote in favor of it should either move to where they can be nude freely or just suck it up and live with the laws where they are. There is no need to legalize it, it should remain where it is, illegal. The places where it is legal should remain as so but there is no need to over do it and make it so that you can be all over he world.

I'M POSTING THIS NAKED!

No, no, and no. One of the primary principles of a free society, maybe the primary principle, is that anything should be permitted unless we have a very pressing reason to restrict it, such as if it harms somebody or destroys his property.

"We" are? I was not brought up that way. Maybe with the idea of public nudity being weird, but not morally wrong.

Well, I can think of no good reason, so I would not do these things, but that is not a good basis for law. What is a "good reason" for you may be no reason at all to someone else, and vice versa.

Posted by Frenchie on Feb-11-2007 02:05:

Are every single one of the laws that are written perfect for everyone? No.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Feb-11-2007 02:13:

Nope.

But why should something be illegal if it harms nobody beyond disgusting them? If enough people were completely intolerant of homosexuality, would it be appropriate to ban gay couples from holding hands?

Frenchie from Germany, in Toronto?

And I thought Allied Nations was our true "citizen of the world"

Posted by Frenchie on Feb-11-2007 02:21:

No, but people are are fighting that though.

It's not that it is only the matter of disgust, it's also the fact that it's out of respect for those who don't believe in parading around naked. Why can you just do it in the privacy of your own home? People complain that, " I only get seen as a piece of ass( applies to men and women ), and I hate people stare at me" these are people who wear almost nothing ( mostly women in this case who choose to wear almost nothing and if had the chance would wear nothing), so to make it legal we'd have a bunch of chaos and hypocrites walking around.

It just seems as though it would be an open invite to discriminate and hate more than what he have today. Why cause more of that when it's what we need less of.

Ok how did this get turned around, back to making it illegal.

-Well, there are more illegal places than legal places to be naked, so It seems as though you could challenge the other side of this. " Should it be all legal"

Well, it is already established that property owners have the right to determine "dress codes" for their property and turn away people who are dressed inappropriately, so the issue would only be over public lands like parks.

Lightbulb

Yes, No and Yes...
Nudity is a form of expression that many believe to be taboo, tribes in Africa til this day walk around nude and it is an everyday thing without giving it a sexual innuendo...if aborigenes can do it..why cant our society?

Masturbation is a self release form of sex, it is meant to be natural? Absolutely, but it is also a personal time.

Public sex? Hell yeah! Our society has come a long way from the days of the Roman Empire, in which there were no taboos or secrets.
You wanted it, you had it. Period.
