Review: Together as One at the Docks
Oh my God. I had such an amazing night! I just got home now, and am going to get a bit of rest before I post my full review.
fuckin sick. johan bored me to tears but when kayu & albert came on they tore the roof off. and im not even a fan of that type of music! these guys have great energy. all in all a very nice vibe/atmosphere, some nice tunes and im very happy i got to go to the VIP booth towards the end.
last year was still better but its hard to top felming so im happy
I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of being at Docks last night
Thanks to everyone who made such a wonderful night possible.

i had a great great night. ended up getting cut from work at 12 (not 3 like i was supposed to) so was in by 12.30. having to wait in coatcheck in the happyhardcore room was almost the death of me..with jamie being nooo help in my sad state
caught the end of dennis set. fucking loved it. took about 45 minutes to say hi to everyone. so many TA out. had to go to the parkview room to grab some people for cake time. heard 2 minutes of dekoze who was laying it down.
saw bits and pieces of johan. he was working the crowd and some good tunes were played...but for me the action was in the tranceaddict room for mobius and stilez. i haven't seen them since nadas cottage, but they were above and beyond what i remembered
went back to the main room for kyau and albert. this night has been a looooong time and coming. so many tunes i was excited to hear. kiksu, walk down, made of sun. everything you'd expect...except NO VELVET MORNING. i have to say i was quite disappointed by this as it was the song that made me love them three years ago. all in all i cannot complain. those guys were champions. loving the crowd. making an effort to get to know everyone. class act all the way
best of all. the crowd tonight was best ever. so many good people out and all the TA people i love the mostest (with some notable exceptions
)
i love parties like this !!!
and thank you and congrats to del!!! <3
congrats Del.....yet another great year for t.a.
woot woot!
aamazing seeing everyone last - specially cool have the nyc'ers staying with me - YOU GUYS are dope as FU**
NuEra: u never disappoint doo always consistently great sets....Dennis H: u too babe awesome!!!!! Can't forget u Ray
what a night - wow! need to go bed again exhausted....
fucking wicked night of bloody ch00ns and great fucking friends.
PERF as far as i am concerned!
brilliant.

WOW. WHAT A NIGHT!
I had very energy recovering from a hangover so my dancing shoes were not on.
Got in at 9:30. Guestlist, coat check no problem. (Thanks Del for the reduced list)
Headed to Parkview to catch NuERA in action. Ahhhh... the blissful sweet sweet prog! Although it was early in the night, Andrew was laying down some heavy beats and I'm pretty sure he had more people dancing than what was going on in the mainroom at some points. Kinda tapered off to more Digweed style dark prog but picked it up later. Good stuff as usual. (We'll forgive your few dodgy mixes)
Holy crap young'uns. I guess they don't get to go out more often so they come in real early but some of these kids can't be more than 13!
I also did catch some of Ray warming up the TA room. Honestly, I enjoyed his stuff at Butterfly the day before, but Ray was giving 'er. Liberation Lounge was PERFECT for TA room. Cozy, enough space for people to dance if wanted to.
Was also very impressed by Sean Crawford's set. Party tunes all the way. Demi - Drive is a fucking TUNE. I couldn't fault the set in any way.
What else can I said about Dennis Hahn than I've said many times before? The man smells... of TUNES! Hard banging house and trance that the crowd ate it up. I did enjoy the beginning and the middle of his set more than the end but that was best Dennis Hahn set I've heard recently. Yeah. The DJ booth was very sticky. Ah well. Can't have everything.
While waiting for Johan Gielen, drifted in and out catching various acts Linga Sharira's techy stuff, whatever DnB in main room, some hardstyle. Was getting a bit impatient but Johan Gielen did a good job. Mixing kinda sucked at times, his tricks were decent. Like he was trying to be Eddie Halliwell or something. Way too much usage of filter. Not that there are other effects on a xone62, but too much filter is annoying as fuck. His crowd interaction was awesome. Tunes were solid. Giving props to TranceAddict was pretty damn cool.
3:30 came and I wanted to see Stilez and Moebius. Haven't seen them play in such a long time. Tech trance goodness! Hertz - Breaker (Bryan Cox remix)! Good to see some DJs sticking to vinyls. Gives that old school touch that you don't get with CDJs. That was a very enjoyable set too.
Kyau and Albert... aka the main course. I guess if you're into fanny trance, you'd have had a good time. I was in mood for some of that, so I had a good time. (Then again, I was in the mood for anything) Standard stuff from their recent tracklists, but no Velvet Morning. That would have made my day. Modulation - Spirits (Slusnik Luna remix).... Classic TUUUUUUUNE!!! I never expected that tune to be played! Trance was alive and kicking as surprisingly more people than I expected stayed until the end to hear K&A. Good job. Awesome crowd interaction too. (Esp. the dude wearing the Euphonic shirt)
WARNING: If you ever plan on going to a Jelo show, be prepare to suffer the consequences of his dirty, nasty beats. He will ruin your body.
Feck. Never seen Jelo before. He meets the hype, and then some more. I had like zero energy but his tunes slapped me in the face and told me to dance and my body responded automatically. I suffer now. Jelo is a very sadistic man, to be playing body abusing tunes.
WOW.
Overall, I had a blast! Good to see many of you again (2 nights in a row!) Just smiles all around.
Oh, I dunno why the Docks keep getting slagged. The sound in the mainroom was fine. Wasn't loud to bleed my eardrums. Crisp sound (having a xone as the mixer helps). It was packed, but not to the point where you can't dance. Good ventilation.
Yeah, there were kiddies around but they blended in with the crowd and there were more than enough 'adult' crowd going around so the vibe was still good.
Honestly, I'd go to the Docks for a big event than go to Guv main room and be a sardine and sweat my bag off.
Overall: 9/10
Tune of the Night: Modulation - Spirits (Slusnik Luna remix)
Quote of the Night: Lars - 'I think I actually like this kind of trance!' (something to that effect. I giggled like a little girl when I overheard that)
NATHALIE- Johan says he missed you and Shalom!!!
Thank you to everyone who made this night so special for me. Thanks to everyone's love and generosity (detailed list to come), we have a new TA among us: Jasmine. Thanks for making this first event for her so memorable; I will be reaping all the benefits at work starting tomorrow!
LOL!!!
Glad everyone had a great time last night. Wish I could have made it out.
Congrats to Del + co. for yet another milestone

Had a great time last night! Was sooo nice to get re-aquainted with some familiar faces, and lots of new ones too! It's gonna be so much fun living in Toronto. There's just tooooo much good stuff to say about last night that me brain still can't process it.
Can't say enough about K&A, both about their set and as people!

Rachel, we didn't do a hands in the air trance moment together! So disappointed

So jealous...what time did it end at?
Pretty speechless at this moment...just woke up from what ever couple hours of sleep I could manage to get in, with my head still busting beats every time I rolled over I couldn't stop thinking back on the night and the good times it brought...
First time at the docks, first time meeting some TAers (you guys are really awesome by the way!
) - couldn't have been happier.
Deko-ze totally ripped it, unbelievable seeing him play. He works the crowd like fucking puppets - getting them to move anyway he wants to. Brilliant. J E L O deserves mentioning as well, fuckin ripped it up.
I loved the DnB as well in the mainroom, great music to get moving too and great warm up for the last half of the night...
Dennis - glad you remembered me from purple room when you tore it up 2 weeks ago. Definately played some banging house that got me moving.
Johan played a great set in my opinion, totally lived up to his name. Some great tunes in there as well that I was suprised to hear like mentioned above.
K&A were phenomenal - they play so well together it was insane. Trance was never really my thing, but after yesterday I could just feel it going through me, through my blood.
Great night, thanks for all the fun!
Having been warmed up, burned out and hung over by Butterfly the night before, I wasn't really feeling my best gong in...planned to sit in a corner and drink for the better part of the night.
Yeah, right.
Five minutes in and I was past it. Got there early, about 10ish, and Ray was getting things going. I had to leave early but I caught
Ray--->Dennis, great work guys. The sound in Liberation was great where I was standing, but wonder what happened to the back half of the light show?
Really regret cutting out around 2:30a, really, really regret missing Sonic...next time I suppose. Great to see so many TA's out.
When's the next one?

Okay, here is my little review:
I had a few friends over for pre drinks, and then we cabbed it to the docks. As soon as we got to the front of the line, I realized that I had forgotten my identification at home in my other purse. I was freaking out!! So the security started off by throwing my pack of cigarettes out. (I'm sure you were pleased about that, weren't you, Idma?)
I got in sometime around 1, and listened to some wikkid dnb by Ray Keith. Then I went and explored the other rooms (that I was allowed into). It was kinda boring on my own, and I really wanted to go upstairs or in the Liberation Lounge. At around 2:30, I attempted to get into the Lib. Lounge, because I thought that alcohol would have been cut off by then. Anyways, the security guy was SUCH AN ASSHOLE! He just kept yelling at me. It was a total mood killer.
I hung out for a bit of Johan's set, but wasn't really feelin it. I ended up FINALLY getting upstairs after 3:30. Pfft. The breaks room was pretty awesome.
Just after 4, I ventured into the main room to catch Kyau and Albert's set. Some awesome tracks were played (Walk Down, Made of Sun, Kiksu, Are You Fine, and there were a few more that I can't think of right now). The set overall was 6 or 7 out of 10. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Or maybe I am just saying that because I haven't gone to see a trance DJ in a long time (because my style has changed so much). I enjoyed the breaks and parkview room the most. I really enjoyed the variety of music last night. I was definitely in need of an all access event like this.
A wikkid moment for me was in the main room at around 2:00 when there was an announcement that WEMF 2007 is definitely happening, and the dates are confirmed. I knew that there would be a WEMF this year, but it made me happy nonetheless.
It was nice to see so many people that I hadn't seen in ages. I won't make a list of shout-outs, because it would be way too long. The TA crowd was in full force last night.
We left the club when it was over, and I came home and went to bed at around 8. After 3 hours of sleep, I feel great!
Next stop: US 12!!
