Beta/Alpha/1.0 (suburban/urban train, unfinished/finished symphony)

Whats the story behind Urban Train and Suburban Train by Tiesto.....
and Unfinished Symphony and Finished Symphony by Hybrid?

were they, like, "test" tracks before they were officially released?

are there anymore?

i heared that the surbuban train samples and loops was made from someone else .

trainwreck is a word often used to describe Tiesto's mixes. So he decided to associate 'train' with his productions as well. There, now you know.

I think that the only difference between Symphony and Finished Symphony is that they used real orchestra for strings on Finished S. And beats are little different on Finished one

Some other examples (in most cases they only add vocals for greater commercial appeal)

Riva - Stringer -> Riva - Who Do You Love Now?
Underworld - Born Slippy -> Underworld - Born Slippy.NUXX
Tilt vs. PVD - Rendezvous -> Tilt - Invisible
Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia -> Thrillseekers - Fly Away

Orbital - Halcyon -> Halcyon + On + On

actually the version with the vocals of Sheryl Deane isn't called Fly Away. It's called Synaesthesia (Fly Away).

I think with this one, it's something different tho as the tracks have nothing in common and they were both initially released on the same vinyl in 1995. Why they have the same name, i have no clue.

Rank 1 - Many Miles Too Soon -> Such Is Life
East West - The Love I Lost -> Ayu - Connected (Ferry Corsten Mixes)

No Urban Train is the version with the vocals of Kirsty Hawkshaw.

The original promo of Suburban Train was titled as Urban Train but besides this exception it usually is as you said. Tho it has been confirmed here in numerous threads that the titles vary between the versions in various releases.

As far as I know, this first title you mention has never been given to that track by Rank 1 but it was titled that way by people who spread a radio rip (taken from Rank 1's Trance Energy 09-30-2000 performance) on the net.
Man I remember the everlasting debates I had about this back then. People never wanted to believe me but I'm quite convinced Benno de Goeij told me it was never called 'Many Miles Too Soon', as the unreleased tracks from their live performances were usually unnamed anyway. The track we know as Such is Life came in 2001, carrying pretty much the exact same melody. It's just such a long time ago I'm afraid to say I'm 100% sure

Heh yeah.. i had a little doubt about it all along but wasn't sure if i should believe my doubt or not. Was too lazy to look for a confirmation.

i remember reading something about the melody/track being written because some dude called miles had died (brother of some id&t guy or something). dunno if that's true though.
but that's the explanation i remember reading for the title "many miles too soon"

Yeah the ID&T boss's brother, who's name was Miles indeed, died just before that edition of Trance Energy in a car accident, and for some reason someone connected the track with the passing away and came up with that name.

stringer came first, when they added the vocals a lot later, it became stringer (who do you love now?)

same for synaesthesia really.

4 Strings - Into The Night -> 4 Strings - Take Me Away (Into The Night)
