Pro Tools?
Does anyone use this or know of anyone that uses this? ive never seen any questions about it on the forums, im in the middle of downloading the demo to give it ago.
if anyone knows anything about it let me know.
thanks
It's not exactly the number one choice for MIDI sequencing although it IS possible to do a full song in it. It's more commonly used for multi-track recording (i.e., recording for live bands), post-production, and live sound. I can help you with any questions you have or you can check out the user forum on the Digidesign site.
i heard it has sidechain capabilities built in. i dont want to have to pay for cubase 4 i tried the demo of sx 3 and i didnt like it. so im stuck on which sequencer i should move to.
Why move sequencers at all if you're comfortable with what you have now?
well you cant seem to sidechain in cubase sx 1 and also when i record my jp8000 in it, it only records in mono as you cant seem to create a stereo track for it.
ah, the mono recording would be a problem, but for sidechaining just get the waves C1 compressor or something similar with a sidechain input.
i just fixed the mono problem that was occuring. i ahd turned something off in the devices panel.
one problem solved. so how do i sidechain using the waves c1 compressor?

oh yeah, thats cool you can still mono sidechain, no stereo sidechain for you though without sx3.
Pro Tools is tops for mult-track recording and is the recording industry standard. Which means if you ever find yourself in a room full of synths, risers, exciters, and drum machines, you may want to orientate yourself with ProTools. But since alot of EDM is produced by other means these days, you probably don't need to make it a priority. It's a great program though when used correctly, though.
you were going to get a daw because of its built in sidechain capability?
i can't think of one daw that can't sidechain. maybe reason but you could do it the manual way
