(pun intended)

I thought the movie was a bit boring.

I was more entertained by Julietta http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0248123/ even if the imdb review blows, calls it a trend follower.

lol i swear, the thought process behind this movie: "yo so i saw trainspotting the other day, and man those two scenes with the underworld tracks playing, the crazy detox/exorcist baby scene with dark+long train or w/e and the end scene with born slippy, so fucking good right! okay so i was thinking we basically take those two scenes and make one feature length movie just like em, it'll play out like one big music video, its gonna be awesome! what do you mean underworld won't write shit for us? fuck them, we'll just find some german guys to do it."

god damn dude, i could see not liking it but boring?
its 88 minutes long and there's seriously not a single moment that isn't just straight action
and even the scenes where she's just running, motherfucking choons!

of course not, but i thought that this was far more engaging than some action blockbuster like terminator
there its mostly action thats interesting, whereas run lola run was much more involved on a mental level. to me the constant running if anything served to keep the viewer on the same level as her, constantly trying to figure things out. idk, i thought it was anything but dull

edit: lol i'm also half playing devil's advocate because i'm in a film class and right now writing a paper on the movie, and i regard you as the premiere film buff around these parts

well are you supposed to defend movies you think are crap?
I'm not saying this one was but ... I guess you are supposed to do a detailed analysis etc of the movie but I don't find much depth in this one.

Franka Potente has been viewed as the leader of the new Germanic cinematic wave because of this movie but the Lola character has become a curse for her (recent interview she was talking about trying to disconnect herself from this stagnant public conception of her as Lola). Happy to see it brought her to Hollywood. I saw a short movie she directed and I liked it. But this was far from being her best work ( it was one of her first major movies actually )

The other one I posted ( Julietta ) was much more deep and was based around the whole Love Parade drugs etc ( hence me naming it ) but no one has ever seen so you wouldn't have a clue ( except if you are in germany I suppose ).

One of my favourite foreign movies after Amelie. I remember when I first watched it, I love it that much, I tried to look like Lola with the tank top, combats, boots and red hair. Yes, I DID have red hair but it was shorter (but I've no pics to prove it )

Excellent film, by the way.

ive heard of this movie and heard a bit of good things about it but never saw it. is it subbed? *hopes it isnt*

and Lola Rennt is a great movie if you dont take it on a face value level. if your not analyzing it then yes it will be very boring and bland.

wow sounds like a science fiction class i had in high school where all we did was watch science fiction movies with 2% lecturing.

sounds like a comm class i should have taken, being a comm major, lol. is that the type of class where it meets once or twice a week for three hours?
