cubase sx3 help

ive recently purchased sx3 after wanting to get more serious about music making, can anyone recomend a good book to help me to get used to the software more quickly, specifically aimed at a dance music producer would be nice!also the books i have seen so far looked more for guitar style composers and i dont really record audio,i mainly just use loops, samplers and soft synths,i currently use fruity loops

cheers for any advise

I thought that I would use this thread in asking a little noob question I have regarding cubase. I have a Virus KB and I connected it to the computer via a hardware mixer, and now I can play sounds that Cubase can see in its mixer, but I cant record the sounds! whats wrong?

Simply, start an audio track, arm it for recording by pressing the red record button, make sure the audio input is set correctly then press record.

One book I can recomend is the manual. Im serious, sit down and start to write a track, have the manual open in another window or the book open on the desk. Whats the first thing you might need to learn? well importing audio, hotkeys help alot, or simply connecting a vst. Im not sure what your level of skill is right now but you get my point.
