Whats so hard about bringing PvD to Toronto?
Whats so hard about bringing PvD to Toronto compared to other big name djs?
its been a mystery thats been in my head for a while, and I just remembered it.
I would like answers from ppl who work in the clubbing industry or anyone who is familiar with it.
thank you
I know people in the industry but they aren't booking agents for the club. Or if they are I hardly see or talk to them. (ahem Itikia :P)
What's the deal w PvD not coming to TO?
From what I hear, he's a big princess.

Because we have SARS, obviously!
Lol Yes we have Sars. Still. I heard from Del about his last gig here he basically got the boot when he wanted to play a bit more from the club in a way that was 'not so nice', meh, if that's the only reason then he should learn to suck up stupid shit like that.
what about Danny Tenaglia coming to town ???

Paul doesn't seem to frequent any place in Canada besides maybe Vancouver so its not just limited to Toronto. The rumor i had heard back in the day was that he had some billing issues with the Guvernment but i think its more complicated than that.
In any case, if you want to catch Paul in North America, then New York City is the place. Where else beside Berlin do you get to hear him spin for 6 hours.
Yes, and he rips Roseland Ballroom and Central Park in NYC apart!!
He will be here soon enough
not to worry.
I think the title of this thread should be changed to:
"List every rumor you have ever heard about Paul Van Dyk"
don't like his stuff anyways

Mr. Van Dyk has not been to TO since June 2004 at Guvy. Likewise with Tiesto at Guvy as well. If I'm not mistaken they were booked one or two weeks after eachother and since then they have yet to return to the club. Tiesto of course has been back but only to other clubs. Clearly there is some issues either with the club and or with this city specifically which makes him not care enough to come back. So what to do.. hmm yes what to do indeed. Why go on a roadtrip of course!
If you love off Dyk that much, you will travel wherever you deem necessary in order to see him otherwise you simply don't care THAT much.
jesus christ.

Rumour has it that Paul van Dyk and Underworld is going to be the first acts of club Circa opening in a month or two.
The owner of Circa Peter Gatien had a few night clubs in NYC, maybe PVD played at his clubs a lot and had a relationship with the owner. Also, it would give Circa a lot more publicity if they can book PVD and Guvernment cant.
I was wondering when another one of these threads was going to pop up. We havne't had one in awhile.

Tiesto did play a guv set in 2004 as well. Entire complex aside Koolhaus. Crappy set, rumoured to sour him from the guv and send him to the docks permanently.
I have heard the promotional issue about PVD and guv as well.
The only other rumour stated from someone in an agency (very well could be a rumour), involved his politics.
Back in the Chretien days the relationship between US and Canada was getting a little nasty. PVD does a lot of little political benefits for the US and apparently he may have been bothered by some of the canadian headlines.
Been listening to this guy since before Oakie's prime time, and before tiesto was even on the radar. Think he is a great DJ but won't go out of my way to see him, since he refuses to come here.
