Music types

I'd like to bring something up here.

The style of music that I love to make I have had no luck finding elsewhere. I like really really melodic stuff with clean beats formulaic

Now, apparantely my last name is French and I would imagine I also have a French background.

The other night I came up with a theory that people are more likely to get into music that comes from artists of their own background.

When I was listening to the radio the other day I heard this artist who was French and I really related to that music. It was exactly the same as mine.

I'm right into 'Air' who surprise surprise, just happen to be Frenchies.

What do all of you think about this?

Why do you always need to bump your threads for no reason whatsoever, especially when you don't have anything to add for the thread? If you don't get replies, you just don't get replies.. i doubt bumping threads doesn't make your chances that much better.

For the subject.. hmm, i do like some Finnish artists alot, like Jori Hulkkonen, Beetseekers, Beat Pusher, Syna, Imatran Voima,.. but i think overall my taste in music goes allover the globe pretty equally, maybe a bit more concentrating on the British soil or at least it used to.

Here is a thread that has a documentary on techno (which is a very good watch for anyone else who hasn't seen it).

I remember at one point Juan Atkins or Derrick May talks about how their environment influenced the way they produced (I.E. - Being from Detroit which is known for it's machine/industrial business; therefore creating music that mimiced "machines" or that sound).

I'm sure it's the same for the music you listen to too.

+1 Definetely not. In threads like these even if the thread starter is kinda , others might reply with something worth reading or even inspiring a discussion.
