Attn: Germans (translation)

I was giving a listen to one of my beloved drum & bass tracks.. its title is in german.

At least I believe it is seeing as it's a Panacea rmx. Anyway.

It's DJ G-I-S - Zuruck Zu De Schatten (the Panacea rmx)

Does that translate to anything meaningful?

shatten is shadow i believe from my days speaking deutsch. zuruck would be the descriptive word here, and zu de would be 'to the'

what words do you remember? my german sucks now too though. it would be nice to be able to speak it again. was fun talking to friends in german and talking shit on people. i know its rude but its fun.

Here in high-school in the Netherlands, German is mandatory.

when we went to secondary school we took either french or german depending which 'half' of the year group we were in. Those in the top groups on each side minus a couple who were struggling then took the opposite language the next year onwards, so I did 5 years of German & 4 of french, however I'd have loved to have been taught it from a younger age, say 5 or 6 as kids pick languages up so well, and had spanish also been available, i'd have been even happier. I don't remember much french now but a little bit of the german. I can speak more than i can write, and most of it is pigeon shit now
