>>Need opinions on new track!!!!!!!

I've just finished a new track... in my usual melodic, uplifting trance style

Let me know what you think!
And be harsh, I can take it

DJ myndLess - The Third Day (Original Mix)

Posted by davinox on Apr-02-2002 01:42:

it's pretty good.

however, it sounds kind of typical. kind of a basic trancer.

Posted by Haak on Apr-02-2002 02:05:

I like it, it sounds really good. The lead and the pads are great. But at the climax, when the beat kicks in, it's overpowered by the synths. The melody is nice too, so they only thing I think should be improved, is adding more power to the kick

Keep it up

Re: >>Need opinions on new track!!!!!!!

nice track, especially the piano lead, that one's most emotional

but i think the bassline could be better...

keep it up! Wim @ LW

Wow, I was really impressed with this one! Way to go myndless, you really put alot of effort into this tune. What do you use to make your tracks by the way?

Great work on this one! Great melody and some good drum work...

Keep it up

I use Cubase VST32 5.0 with my Yamaha CS6x synth for all of my songs... I started off using Fruity Loops, and would still be using it today if I hadn't gotten a synth

Awesome. I have the same Cubase program I just installed it today, im wondering if I should change from Fruity to that, or Reason, but reason is so damned difficult to learn... what do you think? Was Cubase easy to learn?

It's not that bad once you get used to it... not as complicated as Logic, but it's not basic either. I still haven't mastered the audio aspect of it. And I would only go with Cubase if you have a synth to work with, otherwise stick with FL or Reason.

Sounds like a plan

I'm probably gonna get all my productions organized and perfected as soon as the summer starts, and maybe work with some other artists and singers as much as I can. Let me know of any ideas you have!!!

If I were to get bored of it, I wouldn't be producing it now would I?

Woah hey buddy, I hear ya. but it's a good track non the less right, somethig you'd hear out there now no? your average good track wouldn't you say? Well looks like myndless here has potential and obvious talent, and we're all here to learn from one another and get better, so this is where it's done, the learning.

Posted by da_MynDLesS_one on Apr-03-2002 05:09:

I personally produce what I want to hear. I'm not into music production to make money or become famous. I do it because I enjoy it, and I enjoy listening to the songs I make. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't think about what other people will like when I make a track, but rather what I like.

Posted by Boy trance on Apr-03-2002 05:11:

Thats what it's all about. I do the same, think of the best thing I could hear, and produce! Why be limited to what tracks are out there?

Posted by dj cuttof on Apr-03-2002 05:27:

i Think dj_MynDLesS is Very Very Very Talented,,, he sounds very professional but i think he can use that talent to make more original songs, and he will be Amazing

Hey!!!!!

It's a really good song. The build-up is perfect, everything sounds as it's supposed to, but there's one thing I'm missing. Like someone else said before the bass-kick is a little bit to soft when the strings are added and also it misses a little bit of a powerfull feeling. Dunno exactly how to explain, but I'll try. When the main melody is put in, the song softens too much. What might help is boosting up the bass-kick into sort off a 'Dumonde' kick, that would really pump it up. Also a strong Hi-hat would make the middle part sound better I believe, something to keep up the pace, d'you understand what I mean? I'm not saying you should make some kind of 'Dumonde' song, but it's more to give you a direction of what I mean. Just add a little bit anger into the song, that's what I'm saying.

But still, don't get me wrong, I think it's a very good song!

Job well done!!!

Greetz, Kamaya

Posted by Trancevision on Apr-03-2002 11:50:

yes DUMONDE KICK would be cool

This tune is far from average and much better than most of those crappy tunes you can hear here on tranceaddict. It 's one of my favourite tunes, but I think DJ Cutoff somehow got the point for the main melody. The Synth beginning at 3:07 should be more original and fatter.

Very impressive,

Yeah, your kick drum is a little weak, get something with more of a thump, and compress the hell out of it.

It's definitely not run of the mill trance, the instruments are the only thing that is run of the mill. The structure is very original, and works incredibly well.

Nice work.
