Oh Jeepers, Silly Me!
I just recorded 1 hour, 19 minutes worth of nothing because I had my line out plugged into the headphone jack on my recorder.....
.....
.....
*head explodes*
a thing that happens to everyone sooner or later...just be happy you didn't damage any ins/outs...and let it be
last week we brought the laptop down to the club to record some livesets, everyone that night played killer sets, get home only to find out the entire night is nothing but static
i wanted to punch babies
Come to Metro Lounge tomorrow night and your set will magically appear.
i hear ya bud.
or not as the case may seem.
end bad joke.

I remember doing this.
The good side is that you prolly wont do it again for a few years since you will make extra sure your plugged in correctly.
We spun for about three hours on NYE. I brought my Powerbook to record the entire thing. Turns out that I accidentally set it on built-in mic as opposed to line-in. A bit of a downer, but it gives testament to how nice the built-in mic on it works. It's actually quite listenable.

i always check on my comp that the recording is working before i really start recording a set.
one time though my fucking computer crashed right after recording a mix. didn't have time to save it before the crash. thank god the mix went like crap anyway so it's not like it mattered much that i lost it.

I did something like that tonight, recorded my first livemix.
transitions were pretty nice and everything, when i went listening to it it turned out that the level had been way too loud.
All i got is 1hour of distortion,
also felt like beating small children and stuff tbh.
But now its all hooked up properly so next one will probably turn out better

Yeah I went to record a set on my MP3 player that I use for recording (a big, old Creative Nomad thing) and the set was great...a mixture of uplifting melodic trance, deep progressive trance and some house. Lo and behold...I never plugged it in, but still had the MP3 player on "record"....

M-Audio Microtrack
Best investment for recording my sets that I ever made..
Back in the days when I was using a Numark Dxm01 USB as a mixer and sound card (sh*ty!) I remember recording a set, checking the levels and doing a test recording and generally taking some time to make sure all was working good. Pulled of a great set but checked it and only the first 8 mins recorded and the rest was loud noise.
