Holden & Thompson - Nothing (Infinity's 93' Returning Electroslope Remake)

Wow, this one took forever! Think it's finally reached completion, so hope you guys enjoy...It's actually a remix of a remix familiar to most of you, and I'm not sure this version fits easily into a single genre. Tell me what you think!

Cheers!
Infinity

well in the intro the kick sounds more like a tom then a kick but well it has enough punch...and it sounds interesting.

pretty nice composition, but I think it's a bit unusual sound-wise which is what I'm not sure about. The vocals fit very nice to it, so it works well...

Can't say I have a real opinion if it's good or not, maybe the track will grow on me...btw that sine-ish synth could do with a bit of reverb or delay...now it sounds really sterile...

I can hear a lot of effort put into the track though that's nice...well good job there!

and thanks for your review

thanks for the feedback! yaaa about the kicks...i personally think their too trance-ey, while the rest of the track is more house-ish...just left it cuzz i thought it sounds unique, but will probably change em again later just to see how else it could sound...also, by sine-ish instrument, do u mean the main melody?

Some crazy sounds here... Verrry unique.... Also the way it starts....
The vocals fit there really nicely.... I think this is a really good track on its own style.... you can fill it up with a little bit of more melodies i guess tho..... maybe hehe coz i like more melodic stuff... but this is a good track tho... Like it and thanks for the review...

Nothing 93 returning remix is one of my absolute favorite tracks that has always had a place on my mp3 player and probably always will.

I'm loving the more techy trancy feel of it, think you overused the verse lyrics somewhat but this is still going on my mp3 i think

Ease down on the vocal use (way too much now)

Apart from that this remix is very nice!

hi Infinity,

-the bleepy melody gets drowned in the mid, eq it a bit higher its a bright sound and should be repsersented that way
-that sweep at 1:30 is FANTASTIC
-would of expected the pad to be either strings or move quicker...
- i would put a different snare in every 2nd measure or something, you've got a great snare but after 5 minutes i'm tired of its lack of variation
- again not much in percussion but the track flows fantastically like this, i would totally play this out in the beginning of a set

i'll let you know how it goes? do you have AIM?

- and thank you for the comment on my track

Sounds pretty cool, good production work. My only gripes are the ones that everyone else has already stated. Namely, the overusage of the first verse vocal, looping it for about 3 or four minutes. With the vocals in that track I can only imagine the cool things you can do with them, so to only have the first verse looped a million times it seems pretty dissappointing, experiment a bit more. Secondly, the lack of percussion changes, or much changes at all. The track gets tired after about five minutes.

thank you all for your feedback! when i get a chance im gonna get right back to fixing those stuff here and there....and for the highly repetitive vocals...what software or vst, if any, would u guys reccomend that gives you easy control and is a good manipulation tool for messing with or adding cool effects to vocal samples?

listening...

there is no depth here lol, the sound is really thin and weak...

the synths are OK but good use some better programming...

it's hard to really evalute this well because it sounds so weak.

whoa nice job on the vocals fitting in, it works perfectly as stated before. but maybe over panned? unique sounding, but the panning gets a little tiring...

there is lack of sound here, so work on that.

Alright guys, here it is...finally got a chance to fix most of the problems you guys addressed. I eased up alot on the vocal repetitions and rearranged some other stuff to give it a better edge. The new link is below, so hope you guys enjoy :-)
