So are most trance events in LA sausage fests?
One thing my friends and I have noticed whenever the "big" DJ names come to town at say Avalon, Spundae, Vanguard, etc...be prepared for an unsavory serving of sweaty sausage.
I know its about the "music", but we all know that in the EDM scene that noble mentality when out the window in the late 90s.
Anyway after a many outings with friends we've decided to save our money and go out of state or out of country for these types of things.
I'll give a good example why...
On a recent trip to Avalon...well before I go on I wont go into every detail as to how horrid that piece of trash is I mean I would need volumes.
Lets just say as the night progressed you could see the sausage hordes disrobe and their perspiration came out in such a deluge you saw a disgusting sweaty mist hang over the club. As we left I felt a disgusting wax-like layer of filth all over my face and clothes.
Wow what a night...
Perhaps it goes back to my earlier post about there being more males than females in this town.
Oh even with the sausage overload one would think the club promoters/owners would hire beautiful go-go dancers to delude the drunken/drug-induced male patrons to accept their situation, but NO!
At some of these places I swear I see nothing but botched transsexual surgery jobs. I guess in a drunken stupor they may look attractive to subconscious homosexuals, but to the rest of us...please...the prominent jaws, the male-like limbs...it fells like the promoters kidnapped some "walkers" of Santa Monica, gave them breast implants, and asked them to dance like morons for a few bucks a night.
Ahhh its great to see the EDM scene is so alive and well
Unfortunately, you are right. Most EDM events in LA are sausage fests. Sad, but true.
I'd say its more for trance events than house events though.

Other than Europe.. in the US... women feel that they need self confirmation by flaunting themselves at clubs. Unfortunately, you can't flaunt yourself at an EDM club as much as you can at a hip hop club when they bust out "Miss New Booty" and drunk girls start bringing the stripper in them out in the open =P.
But I notice Tiesto brings hella girls (well more girls than usual).

yes, this is true and unfortunately they like to "penis dance" with any female with in a 3 foot radius
i don't think i've ever had more dicks pressed up against me ever! and i used to go to all the heavy metal/hard rock shows and clubs. those guys were respectful! and now we don't even have the booty guard like we used to b/c simon and randy rarely go out anymore

Another reason may be because it is much easier for girls to get into "Hollywood" Hip Hop clubs. EDM events usually always allow anyone who is willing to purchase a ticket to come in so there is no doorman blowing off groups of guys.

women like to dress up and look sexy when they go out. i'm sure women don't want to look sweaty and dance for hours on heels. and of course, there are the go-go girls which will grab away the attention from them.
For most trance events, most def. But when Tiesto or like Armin come to town, the mixture is slightly better.
House def brings out a bigger mixture (especially like Donald Glaude or Miguel Migs). I don't think it's even so much because of musical taste, but the perspective is that house is classy EDM, lol. I dunno, just saying shit.

Funny, cause I think I see less dancing at house events compared to trance events. Think house events to some people are dance when you want to, stand around (on the dancefloor) and talk to friends when you don't. Or maybe trance peeps just go crazier.
When a good house DJ opens for a trance DJ, crowd gets really into it though.

*looks down to thread: "LA....worst place for single males?"

From what I have seen at least from two years ago. Trance or EDM for that matter is not being played on the mainstream radiostations or your MTV's. The thing thats in is going to "shows" or going to a "hiphop" club. My point isnt that people dont go, its not enough. Trance should be HUGE right now. However its not, why? well the mainstream media had a smear campeign agaist anything EDM. "Go to raves you will get stuck with dirty needles" or "go to trance clubs and you could end up getting drugged". So all this Fear gained its own momentum within our society, Being a raver is considered this "diry" thing to be. This is ofcourse what ive seen in califonia over the past 8 years now. Girls want to bring there sexy back, and they want to shake it like a salt shaker. EDM is still 20 years young, and its always evolving. Now im not knockin any gnre here, but EDM did get shafted because of what the news made it stand for. I live in frisco now and we have an EDM radio station, BUT IT BITES ASS! worst programming, so I got siruis and I get to listen to PVD and Paul oakenfold so im ok for now.
Quick fix: Take fliers from the promoters and pass them out to girls or people you want to see at the club. The art of promoting has changed now they have people just handing out fliers to who ever. Hand them out to people you would like to see at the parties. Sorry long ass rant, but I feel like the music isnt being reached out to as many people as it should be.
