Buying a modded xbox360???

Does anyone have a modded xbox360??? i was looking on craigslist and there are a bunch of pretty good deals.... ie. like premium system for like $450 including the mod then like $5 for each game you want.... is this reliable??? does anyone have n e experience with this??? need some advice! thanks!

I find Craigslist far too shady. Try www.redflagdeals.com/forums That site curently has a lot of modded 360s right now.

a lot of the xbox mods supposedly dont mess up the hardware, they just gotta download some firmware... whatever that means.... and supposedly if it breaks they can just remove the mod... so that xbox will fix it.... although i dont know if there is any truth to this

For the original Xbox yes, but not for the 360.

As of right now, i believe you need a chip to mod a 360.

i heard some chips wont allow you to play online either.

a friend of mine has successfully modded 3 of them. evrything is still the same. you can play online, you can play burned games, and play regular games. it is also undetected when you play online.

it is almost too good to be true.

Yes, your fingers will become too greasy for you to type. Let alone use the mouse. Especially the BBQ flavored ones.

Why not just save up and buy the games and system rather than stealing?

Always the stealing line. Seriously, is that all you have to say when the discussion is about MOD Chips, CDRs and MP3s?

Tell me, why would I not be allowed to do what the fuck I want with the object I bought. Why should the manufacturer prevent me from playing imported games lets say, or install any other application that I want on MY machine?

When it comes to theft (of anything) I will always call a spade a spade.

There are many, many awesome games you cannot buy for the Xbox 360 here in North America that you can buy elsewhere in the world, and these modifications allow you to play them.

The question in this thread was not "Where I can get my machine mod'd so that I can pay legally purchased games". I don't have a problem with legal purchase of legal goods (why would anybody have a problem?).

The question posed was:

To which I would suggest - go the legitimate route.

Woah! I obviously over-estimated the depth of thought you are capable of (relating to media piracy). Sorry - end of discussion.

I was thinking of modding my PS2 for the longest time, but I was paranoid that my only DVD player (back in 2001) would be damaged, so I decided not to.

Then I started working and didn't have time to do justice to a modded PS2 with all the $5 games I could have, so I decided to go the RJ route*.

*-also known as the boring route. lol sorry RJ

P.S. The only games I bought full price were GT3 and GT4; all the rest were used. Like HELL am I gonna pay full price!
