Review: EMSAY Electronica v3.0
The night can be summed up in:
DREW FUCKIN MUUUUUUUUUURRRDERED IT!!!
Damn. Non stop Hard House/Hard Trance/Hard Style, or whatever you wanna call it. SOOOO GOOOD. Just kept pounding it harder and harder. And then finishing his set with
Hennes & Cold - The Second Trip (Scot Project remix)
Un-fucking-believable night. The Hard Techno guy sucked - no pounding bass, and I don't even know wtf he was playing. The DNB DJ after Endgame was good - he had a dark DNB style, very reminiscent of what Technical Itch plays. It's not the easiest style of DNB to get into, but I still enjoyed his set. Too bad I could barely move after Drew destroyed me.
Amazing all over again. I'm bringing even more of my friends to the fourth installment of these nights. These parties rock HARD.
Noticed wayyy less sketchiness this time around too - I didn't see anybody too cracked out, except for one brown buddy, but that's it. And this time around, the crowd was more consistent - not like last time when pretty much everyone left when DNB started. Good sign
Ohhh man, I'm hurting all over. Barely got home yesterday cause my feet were dead.
P.S. Drew, did you also play DJ Tom-X - Cocaine? (Actually a tracklisting of your set would be great - I know I recognized a bunch of the tunes, but I can't remember the names.)
Record your sets Drew. FFS

I hate you for always making review threads when I planned on making them.
I will post my summary in a couple of hours.

Re: Review: EMSAY Electronica v3.0
I was THIS close to not going. I had been at work all day, and then I played poker with the guys until about 8. I was exhausted, but I really wanted to go to this event. So I took a bus and then I found out it was the wrong one (the one I should have been on got in an accident). Pfft. So I ended up a million miles from York, and I knew that if I went back by that time, it would be too late, and I would just have to turn around and go back before the subway closes. Idma saved my ass and said that he would drive me back home after event was over. *muah to you*
I wasnt really feeling the set before Drews. I guess it just wasnt my style (I also noticed that he looked far from enthusiastic...). But omg, as soon as Drew started, I went craaaaaaaaazy! I was really into it. I thought I wouldnt be able to dance that much, because I was soooo tired, was wearing my big winter boots, and hadnt eaten all day. His set gave me so much energy though. Drew I have said this before, and I will say it again and again: I love the way you interact with the crowd. You are so enthusiastic. You arent just some DJ who does his whole set without even looking up. I love it when you spin. And your track selection last night was top notch.

glad it was a good night
I am ass-deep in work right now because I am trying to get ahead so I can hit up Montreal this weekend worry-free.
I should be out for FOUR, either behind the decks or on the dancefloor (or both?)
So annoyed I missed this and the first one. I was done work at 12am, grrrrrr.
Let us know when the next one is so I can finally come to one.

This was definitely my ch00n of teh night. <3 The sketch factor was super low last night. This time went I went to the bathroom there, I wasn't being chased by girls asking me for coke or e. I got hit really hard by this guy with glowsticks (I think it's the same one Idma is talking about ) and now I have a bruise/war wound from that. DnB after Drew was okay. I couldn't dance to it as much as I wanted to (because of Drew, my boots, and the super hard style). The next time this event takes place, some of my coworkers and friends are coming. I seriously think that it is such a wikkid thing for EDM n00bs to attend, because it will give them a feel of all the different genres. I got home just before 4, and jumped into bed right away. My feet still hurt! Sooooooooo worth it! I can't wait for v4.0! |
