-- Maor Levi's "reflect" and "illumina"

Big Ears Maor Levi's "reflect" and "illumina"

i don't have sendspace type of accounts so i'll just give you the link to it this way:

http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products...ght=maor%20levi

oh, and the tracks are mixedup. the track that says "reflect" is actually "illumina" and vice versa

not real all that new, but what do you guys think about these tracks? i love "reflect". "illumina" is good too (very serene and calming), but the track is very repetitive! i think the music on both is beautiful.

"reflect" sounds a lot like "lital" (another maor levi track) though...i amost thought "lital" was the backwards version of it.

Reflect is stunning, absolute class, best Maor production imo

Very dissappointed with this release: boring progressive. This vocal-samples are really annoying; all progressive producers use dem. Maori bring on more stuff like Destruct, 5 Remix or Cant Sleep Remix. That were decent Maori productions.

wow this is a good example of two tunes that sound like anything else in the scene. re-sale value? $1 ?

Posted by isoterra on Feb-23-2007 22:22:

i guess they sound ok as chilled setfillers for a trance warmup.. nothing outstanding though. as rebel9 says they sound like too much other stuff, & thus pretty forgettable

i want more stuff like toaster. that was neat

I love both productions =)

Best release... Since Angelstyle - Oceancream/insider.. Other maori releases suck big ass. Anyway illumina is great!

I'd disagree, Reflect is quite a nice track and fairly unique IMO. The combination of vocals and the guitar riff work really well. If you think this sounds like everything else, then you really don't have access to much new music, cuz if I let you listen to the demos I get you'd realize how erroneous your statement is!

i really like 'reflect'... nice and steady not too sure about 'illimina' though, i have too listen it more often i think..

seems like the stuff you are refering to isn't getting a release. I can't see anything unique with any of these tunes. Honestly.

yeah, i would say that these two tracks actually don't sound a lot like much out there. usually, i think a lot of the same stuff revolves around dreamy synth in trance/progressive songs but i do believe that these two tracks are very well put together.

it was an instant ear-catcher for me. the first time i heard these two tracks, i was DEFINITELY interested. the use of the vocals complimented the music. i think it would be lovely in a club setting!

as i mentioned, i like "reflect" more than "illumina". mainly because

a) illumina is beautiful, but can get quite repetitive ater a while (the track i have is 5:57 min. i don't think i could listen to an extended remix, lol. )

b) reflect is beautiful and rather catchy and i'm just attracted a bit more to this track.

if rebel9 doesnt like it, it means its good. Reflect is amazing, killer on the dancefloor!

Anjunabeats trademark is to release music that sounds like everything else.

As for these 2 tracks, ive heard too much trance to appreciate these. Typical Anjunabeats happy sounding trance. Which indeed is very popular these days, unfortunately.

I'll say that the Anjuna has their own trademark sound, hence the term 'anjuna trance'. I don't know if I'll agree that they sound like 'everything else' though.

To each his own I suppose!

its more like i get the feeling ive heard everything before on most Anjuna-releases.
And that the majority of new producers trying to make the Anjuna sound, resulting in an endless circle of recirculated music.

But then again. People have different tastes

Reflect is really nice, great melody. The other once is nice but kind of meh.
