Connecting the EFX 1000
Before I buy an efx1000 I just want to know how it all connects to the mixer and decks etc. I have a 3 channel Numark DM2050 mixer. How many leads will I need? and where do they all go? I'm a total novice on this. Thanks.
I think an effects unit will connect to the effects send/return line on the mixer (if it has it). If it doesn't have the send/return, you can get a bit creative on how you route it, eg. have it send from a channel and return, and use the crossfader as a wet/dry mix, or have it come back into another channel or something.
I'm actually having trouble setting up my EFX 500 to work properly. I connected it to the Send/Receive for effects on my mixer. However, when I flip the effects switch to post (I have a Vestax PCV-275) I get like a really distorted sound. I've played around with the levels but I still get this sound no matter what I do. I tried connecting the EFX directly to my CDJ with RCA cables, and that seems to work fine. However, it restricts me because I kind of wanted to be able to use effects on either of my 3 CDJ's, not just on one. Is there a fix to this problem?
Could it be that in POST mode you have both the dry signal AND the "effected" (wet) signal playing simultaneously?

Have you tried switching the "In&Out level" switch to the opposite of whatever you have it currently switched to?
