Who did you see for your first party?

I was curious to see what sold our Ta Friends on the scene, like i was going to raves here and there before i was 19 and i liked the music and all but i haven't been to any club events. Then i went to Turbo for my 1st Toronto Party for Ritchie Hatwin and Sven Vath and within 15min i was hooked .... what was your first party expiriance and who did you see?

Mark Oliver. And he si the only one I saw for like a year straight because at the time I was more interested in the party than the music....I didn't even realize that anyone else besides him played at guv for a while LOL ....or maybe I wasn't paying attention!


......but he was so damn good that I got hooked on EDM...and thus, my edm career began.

my first party was this under rave in hamilton called "Hit Da Breaks"
it featured 3 dance areas. The first one was an out door tent, that was playing funky electro breaks. J-Red was the headliner. The next room was an indoor lazertag. amazing idea.. it was tons of fun dancing on different levels and nooks and crannies. the other connected venue was a club with a great lighting system and sound. wow that party had to be in 1998. been partying ever since.

before 19+ I was going to a few "house raves" which were playing mainly UK breaks and that got me hooked like crack, also attended an all ages thing at guv a while back too

when i turned 19 my first event was AVB at dragonfly this past summer and it totally totally blew me away, it really took what i came in expecting and blew it out of the water 100000000 ft in the air

i need to have music i can dance too or else i just wont have fun...nothing moves me more than a good old breaks set...mmmmmm breaks

My first party was Above and Beyond at Guv on April 29th, 2006.

I saw A&B, Mark Oliver, George William and Deko-Ze that night. The fucking music and the club blew me away!

I've been coming up to Toronto just about every fuckin' weekend since then.

Chus & Ceballos at Sonic, if you can beleieve that. What a great ingress to the TOTA scene...no wonder I got hooked.

Mental.

One of (if not the) last DayBreaks parties back in spring of '99. This was the one with the shitshow of a line and the angry ravers started trying to break down large doors in order to get in.

I have no idea who was playing since I really wasn't that into the DJ's at that time.

I had only just started listenning to guys like the Chems, Orbital, Prodigy etc.

I had a blast though

Destiny 31- Platipus rave with Union Jack, Terra Firma and Art of Trance at some random underground parking garage on Jane St.... waaay back in 1998.

My first 'real' EDM event was LoL 04 to see Ferry.

First big party for me was Connected in March '99 with Carl Cox and more... Mind you, back then, I had no idea who he was.

This is one of my favourite parties! I still have the poster on my wall... You're close on the details - it was actually Oct 2, 1999 and the garage was on Alliance Ave (just off of Jane) - lol @ my ghetto map. I still remember how surprised we all were when the lights came on in the morning and we saw that we partied in a friggin underground parking garage. That venue was made famous the week after when a kid OD'd at the Hulla party.

Was my first party. Armin rocked the Docks that night and Orkidea gained exposure to a whole new fan base.

Armin Van Buuren @ Decadence 05. Can't remember who else was on the lineup.

WEMF '99 when it was @ Christian Island...was only there a couple hours each night as I lived just 20 minutes south of the ferry docks, lol.

edit: I think I saw a bit of Christopher Lawrence & Misstress Barbara, otherwise just walkin' around and checkin' shit out.

mine was a resident night at guv back in 2000 or 2001 (i cant remember) for a friend's birthday at the drink. i remember dancing in the main room non-stop from about midnight until 7am. i didnt leave the dancefloor except to go to the washroom. when i needed water i sent a friend because i didnt want to leave the dancefloor. i remember so clearly that the patio doors were open and the sunlight was coming in. what a great night that was.

My first party for Paul Van Dyk @ Roxy, NYC in 2002.

It was okay but I din know much about the scene then...then it was iDream @ Guvernment, Armin was the biggie that night and I have been an addict ever since

hmmm.

like as if i would remember who the actual DJ was but if I had to guess, it was either Max Graham, Brad Copeland, or Martin Villenue.

My first party was way too many years and brain cells ago to remember who was spinning.
