"heh" and away messages
what is your opinion onthe online term "heh"? do you use it to:
a) really mean you're laughing
b) didn't find what was previously said funny at all
c) using the term just to add filler to the convo/not really caring
example:
person a: i just tripped over my cat
person b: heh
i personally use it when i wasn't interested in what the person i was talking to just said, or don't really care, lol.
secondly, what is ur opinion about people who leave away messages telling others where they are?
example:
"at the liquor store!" or "at susan's house, hit the celly!"

heh is insulting. really pisses me off.

heh is not a term, its a onomatopoeia IMO
when i say 'heh' online i try to convey " i smiled and a 'heh' sound came out of my mouth"

A cold word used mostly for a chuckle, but only some people know its true meaning.
Heh is a short reply, where usually the person who is typing it is feeling down or annoyed. Hardly a chuckle, in my opinion.
"So we went to the movies together, it was fun!" my friend told me...
...All I could do is reply with a, "heh".

I use 'heh' if it's slightly amusing or interesting.
i say it when the other person says smthn stupid instead of saying nothing
I use heh when the comment does not warrant usage of lol or lawl.
I hate away messages that give you the whole night planned out.
"gotta work, then i dunnoo, maybe grab some food with some people, then go booze with some girls, who knows when i'll be home, so just call me"
i always translate that as
"work, then go out to eat with my work friends, then sit at my best friends house and hope we can get a girl to come over, and i'll most likely be home by 9:30"
but heh is definately just a conversation filler.

Away messages:
It's either an away message or offline. If I am offline I have people blowing up my phone asking me where I am, now that I temporarily don't have my cell they can't, but they used to. I don't write a whole, " omg im in room 364 with Jessie and Ashley and then we're going to the bar and we're going to get drunk and make out" I just write, " Gone downtown, cell it if needed"

I tend to sometimes use my away message in the same way people would use a blog on myspace or xanga.
Random thoughts, interesting links, etc. Really small and straight to the point though.
no one cares about my away messages so I can write the fuck I want. although mine always say
"I've been away since 22:40."
since that's what miranda IM adds.
heh is used when I find something mildly funny or I miss the last e

There's somethign about that gif.
I scroleld past and found myself scrolling past,it's addictive to watch for every reason known to man.
i usually type heh when im mean hehe and miss the last e
I use my very own e-laughter scale:
Mildly funny: Heh
Funny: Hehehe
Very funny: Ruffles
Even funnier: Roflol or huahuahu
Absurdly Funny: Hauhuahuahuahuhauhauhau, or roflma-funking-mao!!!1
...
I hardly ever use IM programs, so I'm not used to away messages 
heh usually means i just kinda did a one-sylable laugh. more of an "that's interesting" type of thing i suppose.

"Heh" is pretty much just to acknowledge that something that has an element of humor to it, but wouldn't really make you laugh.
