Haven't seen that video, but check this out:

haha wow
fuckin props to them for taking a bunch of music no one listened to, and rockin them out
LOL
Just watched they video, they pointed to my link
daft punk for the fucking win!!!
honestly, they must have done alot of digging to find those gem samples
i read somewhere that the father of one of the daft punk dudes was a big disco DJ, so they probably just raided their dad's collection and bought a sampler...
in any case, they did a helluva job marketing themselves... they know the business and how it works.
Ok well I was pointing more to the fact that these are like straight up sampled a la DIDDY/JAY-Z/EMINEM and not so much reproduced a la Daft Punk
AKA LAME
awesome thread

Yeah totally. It's not like you'd have been rocking out to any of those had DP not stepped in.
even if i think they rock
im disapointed by this...
i mean yeah they sampled unknown stuff, to US, and they did a fantastic marketing job...
but nevertheless, i thought they were doing those KILLER lines from scratch...
props to those funk guys especially release the beast wooooww
sampling is common every dj/producers samples regardless where it came from recycling loops and samples is how most of this industry works its just how you do it is what counts

i agree that there are many samples in electronic music
but basically its drum samples
sometimes drum loops...
not full tunes

you cant say marketing and no production value cuz in reality they sample the HOOks of the track basically what makes the track and then edit it and change it a little bit something you or me wont even notice but layer everything of there own ontop of it and come up with a hit the marketing value is just an added factor
If most of you haven't realized, Daft Punk's music is an obvious critique/reflection of pop music.
If you see how their style has changed to fit with the musical trends it's obvious. If anything they prove pop music is completely recyclable, and how that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Don't get me wrong, I still love Daft but this is still BLAH
I just hope they credited each and every one of these groups...
