Deep Forest - Sweet Lullaby Remixes [Existence]

Pretty much all of them are complete massacres. I like Jeff Belfi's Downtempo Mix best, and the Saul B mix.

Leron & Yves Eaux mix was most disappointing...dunno what happened to them, but all their tracks are sounding the same and boring these days :S

Samples @ Beatport

Beaumont & Beeman's + Monodrive do the trick for me

nice remixes

All of them are awful compared the unreleased mix I've got from a couple years back.

They're all awful in general, really.

Who did that one?

Posted by RJT on Feb-27-2007 14:48:

I like the Desert Dwellers mix (based solely on the BP sample), but agree that pretty much every other mix is sounding pretty fucking horrid.

Bobby, are you referring to the 2005 mix that Mili used in a promo set a year or two back?

That's definitely my favorite rework of this one...

The remixes I like are the "Paul Kwitek Dub" which is a breakbeat track, the "Be As Deep" mix, which would be progressive trance, and both "Leron & Yves Eaux Dub" and "Leron & Yves Eaux Chill Mix", and the house mix "Andrius Alien & Justin Xara Remix" The other ones are poor. So five mixes worth considering.

+1, that one is gorgeous...makes all of these 4/4 mixes look like turds.

Have you got any information on who did that one?

I have never been able to find any information on it. I'll dig through my HDD and find it and get a sample to you.

That'd be excellent.. Thanks in advance!

Well, I bought the Desert Dwellers mix and rather like it. It doesn't do much, and it's very chill, but I look forward to seeing how it works out tonight - very "loungey" record.

Be As Deep and Tim Davison remixes are pretty cool. Nothing else appeals to me, maybe the Desert Dwellers mix...

Are you talking about the Mauro Picotto's Version I think the release was called Komodo ? That would be the only 4/4 mix out there.Mauro did
not remix Sweet Lullaby ,it was something he copied , the melody and Vocal choir sounds like it was from Deep Forest's song.

Thank guys for the feedback !

No. There's a bootleg remix of that song. I don't know who is behind that track (maybe the same guy behind FSOL Papua New Guinea Si Stylus remix? same sounds etc). It's suberb remix.

I don't know what they usually produce, but based on the Beatport samples I'd say it's my favourite remix of the bunch. The other ones didn't really manage to grab my attention, except for the Monodrive remix, which is quite chunky and powerful, just the way I like it. Shame the vocals are a tad out of sync.

Posted by carmatic on Mar-28-2007 12:21:

sounds like whitelabel material and stuff... except whitelables dont usually come this cheesy with those 'slow sections' that many of these remixes have...the chillout and downtempo mixes are an embarassment

but that deep horizons one isnt so bad, as well as a few that other people have mentioned already

Posted by nefardec on Mar-29-2007 01:27:

desert dwellers rmx ftw

saul b comes in second

monodrive is pretty good, not spectacular but solid and would work well in one of my sets

there will definitely be some sort of mashup in my music for jungles II mix
