Lightbulb MIT to make Nanotechnology

Check THIS out! It was only a matter of time before science fiction was right...lol

http://news.com.com/2100-1001-859877.html

also on an unrelated topic...a virtual or holographic keyboard, sort of like the ones you see a graphic of but there is nothing physically there.

True....it's really amazing...
personally, i would like to see how far science can go...probably never ends...

Exclamation Well...

ok, I do wanna see how far we can go but I think that we'll kill ourselves in the process, we as human beings don't have the responsibility and the restraint (the basic morals) as of right now anyway to be able to control REALLY powerful technology...I'm a dystopian...what can I say? I mean look what the A-Bomb did...they didn't even have to USE it, they only made it because they thought Germany was building one (which they were but scrapped to concentrate on rocket technology) but by then it was too late and figured "well we spent soooooo much time and effort and $$$ that we have to use it...sure you do...and 100,000+ Japanese died for it...

Posted by Tranex02 on Apr-03-2002 07:36:

well yea , your right about that...hehe, but i meant 'non-destructive' technologies..
i mean, we've gone way farther than that bomb, doesn't meant that everything after that was dangerous... ofcourse you didn't mean that..
Science is a vast subject, so we can advance in other areas...
But your right about 'us humans' not being able to control such new technologies...most of the time, it falls in the wrong hands...
...i think we've gone a bit off the subject..

Thanks alot for those links! I was talking to my friends in school about nanotechnology and they all just looked at me like I was fucking crazy LoL. Nanotechnology is really cool.

AWESOME TECHNOLOGY!!!!! This IS the future of most portable technology! PDAs will be able to handle much more requirements from users, etc. I always have loved the world of Sci-Fi and it's nice to see that this "dream" world is STARTING to become a reality! The first article sounds impressive! It's not every day when a HUMAN can junp 20 metres, repel bullets, etc.!!!

THIS is the real future, and THE real technology hehehehe

What technology? This article didn't give that much info because it was about something that was TOO far away from our time and it's something that we probably couldn't imagine. If this article was about the near future (about 10 - 20 years from now), maybe it would've been a bit "cooler" to the person who "went" there...
