Too much music?

I'm beginning to think that my music collection is a bit too extensive. I just maxed out my hard drive today; 16,692 songs, 54.1 days, and 111.22 GiB.

How much music do you all have, and how much is "too much?"

Posted by UWM on Feb-28-2007 18:06:

How much of that is legitimately owned?

Posted by bas on Feb-28-2007 18:06:

No such thing as too much.

Posted by Slylee on Feb-28-2007 18:10:

yea but what's the point of having it all if you dont have the time to listen to it all? do you honestly have the time to listen to every track/set?

Posted by bas on Feb-28-2007 18:10:

Not as soon as I get them, but eventually yes. That's also why god invented cd players

Posted by ill0gical0ne on Feb-28-2007 18:10:

Honestly no idea how much is legitimately owned. Nearly all of the stuff that I legitimately own is stuff that's hard to come by in digital form; so mostly foreign and local stuff.

Sadly, no. A lot is for DJing purposes because I DJ nearly every genre (besides country *shivers*) now.

no, there isn't. there's just too little physical / digital space for it. moving to my apartment tomorrow, and i'll probably fill all walls with vinyl shelves.

I have to figure out a solution for all my vinyl, it's just sitting in crates under my turntables

My folders are all organized. I do a clean up every month or so. I'm constantly buying and putting music into my computer so it needs to be done often.

Posted by AndreaCKY772 on Feb-28-2007 21:51:

i can't put as much music on my laptop cuz i have about 60 gigs or so. the majority of it is mp3s...just like my last computer. i can't stop getting more and more music.

i used itunes 3,4,5, and 6. they all seem to be quite slow compared to using winamp.

<3 iTunes... I couldn't live without it. All of my songs are organized in the form of /music/artist/album/(cd_)track title.mp3 the only exception being compilations, which are a bugger....
