Sound card/mixer recording help

i need a new soundcard, im looking at this one

could anyone tell me if that would be appropriate, i recorded something yesterday but the sound quality was garbage, so now i think i need to invest in a new one...thanks.

don't waste your time with that 7.1 creative sound blaster shit if all you are looking to do is some basic stereo recording and listening to stereo music. get one of these.

Nice card!! I use the delta 2496 myself. Best investment for audio in my home setup ever. The price is pretty good too! Ive had it for nearly 7 years now, and dont think I ever really need anything more.

Also, I see TONES of audio gear up for sale in the musical instruments section of Toronto Craigslist every day including sound cards. Check it out

same. ive been holding off upgrading because ill probably just end up with an m-box when i buy protools.
