Pratt??

Do any NYTA's go to Pratt or have friends that go there? Or have you applied there but you didn't go?

I'm thinking to apply to transfer there. I'm currently an Interior Design student in ft. lauderdale but I would love to go to a recognized school like Pratt and love to live in NY...

the only thing is, you're required to submit a portfolio and I'm really wondering how tough they are about it, etc.

So if anyone knows anything about the school as well as plusses and minuses, please post

There is also SVA ( School of Visual Arts)
That's where I was going to go until I decided to go into pharmacy instead

it's good but not that good lol...

my cousin graduated from pratt [architecture], and i think a portfolio is fairly central to your app. being taken seriously, thought interior design may have slightly different standards.

though gentrifying, the neighborhood is crappy, so you may want to consider the funkiness of sva or the mediocrity of parsons.

U should venture into BK more often, I don't know BK too well but I always go to Williamsburg for shopping, you find great stuff, Galapagos is a very cool artsy place, they have a burlesque show on Mondays that I'm sure you would like.
I meant to tell you about that party @ Exit @ the end of March, u would love the techno being played that night

actually, considering international reputation, Pratt is absolutely considered one of the most prestigious... If you go to Europe for example (where I'm from) in the design world, Pratt is a name they recognize where most of the others, they don't know.

and within the interior design field, Pratt is considered pretty much at a level other schools don't even come close too (with the exception of a few). Parsons ID program isn't even accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation. So although Parsons is a well known school, it wouldn't be worth transferring there from a school that *is* accredited
