First Trance Show...OMFG!
I went to my first trance show last night and I now I know what you guys are talking about when you say your first time was amazing. It was Sasha & Digweed last night at a small nightclub near me. There were only about 200 people there but it kicked major ass. Jimmy van M came on for an hour on the beginning to get the place going which he did nicely and then Digweed came out. I was seriously an awe when I looked up at the booth and Digweed was up there, about 15 feet away from me! This was really cool because I've never seen a major DJ in person before. Anyway, Digweed and Sasha were taking turns at the decks playing some fucking awesome, driving progressive house and trance. I couldn't stop dancing, it was great. I didn't have any glowsticks of my own but some guy let me borrow his for a minute. I've never danced with glowsticks before and I started to dance with them kinda slow as to try to get the movements right and realized I was sucking at it. Then the guy leaned over to me and said "dude, use your mind and go nuts"...right then the track playing went off and I started going nuts with the glowsticks. I gave them back to the guy and it seemed like a did an ok dance. Sasha finished off the show with what I think was two new tracks from his album. The one was 15 minutes long and featured this absolutely beautiful acoustic guitar in it which got everyone moving. The big problem with the show, it ended at 1am, way too early for a trance show to end but it had to.
Another cool part about the night, it was Digweed's birthday! Everyone in the club sang happy birthday to him, it was great. Everyone there was pissed though after the show because Sasha&Digweed just left after the music stopped, hardly even said goodbye. I was hoping to get a handshake and stuff but it turned out ok. All in all, it was a fucking awesome night that I'm not going to forget.
I also took my friend along who I've been trying to get to listen to trance for awhile. He had an awesome time and I'm sure he's a near converted tranceaddict
Well, The only major DJ Ive seen is DJ Tiesto, here in Israel, I like him very much, he puts up a great show for the crowd.
Sasha and Digweed are a great team and going to watch them play is one of my dreams (after PvD of course
)
Happy for you man
And your dance will get better, it comes with time.
I missed Sasha when he was at Newcastle in December I think it was. I was pretty annoyed.
But it's no biggie, we've got Picotto and Hardwick in the next couple of weeks which is nice
By the way, what do you mean by your first "trance show". The first time you've been clubbing, or the first time clubbing to a trance event?

Geez you sound worried!
Where I go there's no such thing as an "ok dance" or a "good dance". Everyone loses their inhibitions and goes mental, that's the point of clubbing really. Masses of people who couldn't give a shit how they look, just there to have a good time.
You get the occasional sad bastard who can flip his glowsticks into a million positions and do all sorts of 'tricks', but most people just hold their glowsticks and jump around like a looney for half a day!

) Having alcohol and redbull in your body makes dancing sooo much easier and fun
...Glad you had some fun...
I'm yet to see a big DJ spin...
BTW...when i don't have a chance to dance at a club...
i usually dance at home...
Again, it's all in the mind... coordinate your movements with the music in your head..

| Originally posted by tranceDJ I consider myself a pretty self-conscious person so I usually have to get up a lot of nerve before I start dancing. At this show it was different because people who like trance aren't going to judge you on the way you dance but how nuts yer going on the dancefloor |
My 1st Trance Event
Since we dont get many big Trance music related events here in the midwestern US like we did with the most recent Triple Crown event at AllState Arena in Chicago I decided this was something that I HAD to go too!
It featured Paul Oakenfold, the Chemical Brothers and Sasha and Digweed. (Jimmy Van M was supposed to be there, but apparently he was sick and I think somone filled in for them). Once I finally got in after standing in line for well over an hour due to security and id checks I quickly met up with some friends and made my way inside. Man I about sh*tted in my pants when I saw a literal sea of bodies and arms flaying up and down on the dance floor. Im glad I bought dance floor tickets instead of the seating. But everyone was getting their f*cking groove on nevertheless.
My main reason in going was to see Sasha and Digweed. The new Delta Heavy Tour is the fucking bomb. Even though they didnt bring the famed Phazon system with them, the brain synapse numbing bass from the sound system drove me insane. I didnt care who was around me or they thought I was "dancing good".
I dont see how people in Europe go to many of these type of shows without ear plugs...shit!
If I were loaded my dream would be to travel to Europe to see Innercity, Trance Energy ( I love Blank and Jones), and of course the Love Parade.

My first trance show was last november, i went to see Graham Gold in the Escape (Swansea).
Good night, Gold played well and they have mint residents
