Eric Prydz vs. John Askew
Did anyone else recognize that? Both of the artists had their Essential Mix recently. Eric gets 11 pages of tracklisting and honor, and John only 3, though the site is called TRANCEaddict...what happened to the scene?
Go and get John Askew's mix. It's hilarious. So much energy!
PS: Spellcheck done
More people know who Prydz is.

Who the hell cares!
Its Tranceaddict, yes. More Important, its an Electronic music discussion board, so people will like and acknowledge other genres. Its is so annoying, that at this current moment where lines of genres are being blurred by numerous djs, that inquiries like this still go on.

look at the pages/thread on music by the likes of Sasha, Digweed, Kleinenberg etc. Is that trance? No, but they're )probably) some one of the most discussed/rumoured/talked-about dj's/producers here on TA since the history of the site.
its about EDM, not trance.
and like UWM said, trance is (sadly) dead. its outworn ..
The Eric Prydz mix was nothing to write home about. For fuck's sake the first hour was slow, boring, and commercial. The second hour was worse - pulling out old Rave anthems like "Higher State of Conciousness", and Robin fuckin S. with "Show Me Love"!!! He also just had to throw in there Vangelis "Conquest of Paradise" didn't he? The only DJ who was able to pull that off was Oakie, and that was back in the 90s when the song actually had a life. . This isn't supposed to be an old school Essential Mix, now is it?
All the while let's not forget that this mix is coming from the same guy that looped a Stevie Winwood record for 6 minutes, and butchered a Pink Floyd classic recently.
I think there are DJs in Timbuktu that can play a better set then Eric Prydz, but I suppose the sheep/masses are digging his sound.

It's cool, we're all sheep to some degree I suppose. At least you're wise enough to see all the hype in all of this.

Links to both for the lazy?
I rarely ever listen to mixes anymore by any DJ since almost every song sounds like farts and swamp ass with a kick/off-beat snare in the background.

Both mixes kinda disappointed me, and I love Eric Prydz.
Askews was ok, nothing special though
Askew's essentialmix was awesome, and i didn't like Prydz' one at all...
Askew is the only one who's still surprising me these days, did you ever went to a prty where he is spinning? I did in Berlin and it was fecking awesome
Danny Howells essential mix shits all over both of those...
