Damn, I can't believe I ever liked it.

Yea, her vocals are ok but the music STINKS.

the vocal without the instrumental is good.

but..

I dunno, certain parts of the song just sound... cheesy. Like- things you'd hear in a kiddie song.

a bootleg I found on Napster when it was in its day!! What a mix!!

Better off alone is a great song..no matter what people say..I still listen to it to this day. And suprising enough...I bet alot of people got into trance through that song.

You are right on the mark!! When I started to first get into trance i was listening to Robert Miles - Children and then I got hooked on PVD - For an Angel and then onto Alice Dj - Better off Alone. I didn't listen to the prime stuff only because I didn't know where to look. So songs like better off alone got me started and when put in comparison with other trance songs, yea it might not be as great but hell its still a goodie. It can get my booty moving!!

I really think that the radio cheapened it, because a lot of people thought that ... the best of trance is on the radio and everthing else is poo.

Radio doesn't change my opinion of a track. I would have liked that song if it never got any airplay at all and just ran across it purely by accident.

i dunno. it was definitely the first song that convinced me that i HAVE to find more trance, but then i remember how cheesy it was. its painfully simple and repetitive. for simplicities sake it does its job regardless - i sped down many a dark nights road to this song. now tho, as i hear trance songs made by musicians and not just jingle writers, it seems a bit lacking. cheese doodles/
