How can you connect a mixer to your pc?

I want to make a mix, but I want to use Virtual DJ because I have all my tracks stored in it. How can I connect my Numark DMX06 Mixer to my PC in order to use it as my mixer on VDJ? What cables do I need?

Thanks in adv,

Atmos

You need a soundcard with multiple outputs.

Then you simply take a stereo to RCA cable from the first out to the first channel of your mixer, and another stereo to RCA cable from the second out to the second channel of your mixer.

Alright, what If I were using two cd players and I wanted to record a mix?

then you take an audio interface or any pc/laptop with line in and take your master out RCA get a RCA to 1/8th splitter and use a sound recording device from line in

Thanks a lot man ... Just finished recording a 60 minute mix. The quality is the best I've heard off of a mix made by real dj gear and not software.

In Audition:
1. go to File -> Export -> audio ->
2. Select save file type as "mp3pro .mp3"
3. click Options (near the bottom)
4. Change parameters as you like. I think 128kbps CBR is good.

Thanks for the compliment. I am going to be doing more videos like that one. I currently have one Serato Scratch Live video up. I'm going to try and have the next one up by tomorrow night.

You can check out all my other videos here: Link here!

hmmm well i use my sound card programe and it works great. i also use audicity sometimes. but the best is connecting my system to my torq conectiv it brings great quality

Posted by Dj Preztige on Mar-09-2007 15:51:

i used audicity and i did not like the sound qulity recording on that,,

i got the adobe auditor last night it goes for about 230$ registred and fully licenced or just down load a tril virsion,,,,and use it for 21 days...but u cant do a mix over 1 minute long..

and the Adobe is a Beuty let me tell you its like haveing a studio at home...with like our friend said...near perfecetion....you cant really tell the difrance in sound qulity vs other mp3;s,,,,,

it's SICK>..once again.........

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahah i dont have that kinda money yet normally i jus mix in wave form which normally has great sound quality and use an mp3 converter and set bit rate and frequencies. but if i ever have the money ill get the adobe

Hey, I forgot my RCA to Headphore cable at work but i do have digital IN/OUT jacks on my PC along with RCA jacks but i cant figure out how to get any sound. I hook it up and nothing, I don't know what's going on.

I go to the digital IN but the volume control and what no is greyed out... I dont even know if i have it hooked up right.

This is what her rear end looks like...

I am pretty sure you cannot plug regular rcas into a digital jack. I saw in the picture that there are rca inputs near the bottom of the case. Have you tried plugging rcas into there?

Using an rca -> headphone cable is the easiest way to do it. Just stick with that.
