tiesto - in the dark

so wat do u guys think of his latest single which will be on his album??

personally i wasnt surprised but i still thought it was nice, i like christian burns' voice even if the vocals were kind of cheesy.

its nothing like the promo described it though as being "rocktrance"

so yea imo it was good but certainly not great.

Posted by Ted Promo on Mar-07-2007 03:34:

Haven't heard it, but by that description I'm not anticipating much.

Posted by iammesol on Mar-07-2007 03:44:

I've heard about it for a while... can't find a sample though.

Posted by Djshortcircuit on Mar-07-2007 03:44:

sample would be cool. I liked 10 secs before sunrise. So I'm hoping this is good also...

i can take a bit of cheese and i still think it was that good, so from wat ive heard u say about songs with vocals you'll fucking hate it lol

Posted by the gamemaster on Mar-07-2007 04:08:

anyway here's where u can download it

http://www.sendspace.com/file/rwjh7i

Posted by RapidFire on Mar-07-2007 04:18:

horrible. therse an alright melody somewhere in the beginning but the vocals and the chorus totally kill it

Posted by the gamemaster on Mar-07-2007 04:22:

yea, i like his voice but thats down to taste, i can see why alot of people would hate it but the melody is okay. as a track by itself i think the song is kind of good (thats pushing it though) but when u compare it to his stuff in the 90's and on in my memory it just makes u angry lol

Posted by arten on Mar-07-2007 06:52:

Vocals are a bit cheese for me, but I like them,, and the melody is awesome I expect Dub Mixes to do a good job one the floor,,

Posted by the gamemaster on Mar-07-2007 08:38:

its got too many fucking vocals, trance isnt supposed to have that many i dont know why tiesto insists on doing this these days he has to learn hes not a song writer but a dj and a producer. i think a nice section of vocals can be great and would have made this track great but its just continious and kind of ruins it.

Im sorry but from the link here..the song sounds terrible. Average bargain bin trance at best. Makes 'love comes again' sound like a masterpiece.

Posted by GoSpeedGo! on Mar-07-2007 09:15:

Oh dear, poptrance at its worst.

I apologize on behalf of Tiesto to the entire electronic music community. This is awful.

Not that bad... Still beats any gay vocaltrance tracks by Kyau & Albert or recent above & beyond tracks.
Pretty commercial, but definately not his worst and still better than the average garbage his counterparts Avb & Pvd release these days.

I'd beg to differ. I'd take Walk Down, Are You Fine, hell, almost any male vocal trance track over this.

Posted by Amduscias on Mar-07-2007 16:43:

i'm a tiesto fan and this *** is dissapointing, i already heard in the dark and i think it rly sucks... rock with trance???? WTF WERE U THINKING TIESTO!!!

i feel like slapping him in teh face

i already heard dance for life too, i don't like it either -_-

is so stupid it makes me sick.. tiesto is losing he's talent.

and he's losing a fan. me

I don't
Just a matter of taste here it seems... But this song in particular isn't exactly much worse than other pop-rock-commercial 'trance' tracks these days. Hey, I'm not such a big fan of it either... But a lot of ppl (no, not you) just dislike this because of the artist.

thank goodness for that!

i'm really longing for the days back when the club isnt @ 120% its capacity for every gig.

Roll on '07! and further alienation of new fans!

I'm not so sure. If you analyse all of the mentioned tracks objectively, you'll notice K&A/A&B productions are much more complex and sophisticated. A lot of Tisto tracks (especially the commercial ones) seem to lack substance, which is the case again here. If you remove the vocals, there's hardly anything left in the track, whereas Good For Me or any other A&B production can function perfectly without them.

I agree with the latter part of your first post though, I'd take a Tisto album over a Pvd or AvB album any day.

Looks like Tiesto is following Armin's lead in titling his productions to fit the state of his career.

"Wall of Sound", "Empty State", and "Golddigger" for Armin, now "In The Dark" for Tiesto.
